I am a bit surprised that this is still not on the issues log, given that it has been reported so frequently, and is a true game breaking bug.
For example, these threads are just from the first few pages of this forum, with the exact same problem:
Yeah, it's really frustrating that this happens and all I wanted to do was get rid of that woeful Mercedes engine and move to the Renault and see if that was better for us
Oh well, another season with Mercedes and a sponsor that wants us to finish 8th
