I am a bit surprised that this is still not on the issues log, given that it has been reported so frequently, and is a true game breaking bug.
For example, these threads are just from the first few pages of this forum, with the exact same problem:

They said they were looking into it 2 weeks ago!!! I mean they keep asking why EA sports reputations is so bad! how can it not be so bad if they can't fix such an important bug in TWO WEEKS!!!!!
I knew Codemasters F1 games were going south the moment EA sports were involved!!!!
I am afraid that when the patch finally comes they will say it will be needed to start all the progress over from scratch...
So all efforts and progress so far will be a waste of time
