to clarify, an experimental feature, where pushing the left thumbstick forwards causes no steering of the wheel in the game. Just as it is now.
Then rotating left or right around the edges of the thumbstick reaches 90 degree left and 90 degree right.
Suggestion is to allow the game to recognize anti clockwise, left steering, and clockwise, right steering, to 180 degrees, each, which allows the player to use a total of 360 degrees of rotation.
If a deadzone at the bottom of the thumbstick is necessery, this can still be 350 degrees of rotational accuracy in gamepad steering. Which is 200% accuracy.
This would revolutionise gamepad racing. Allowing gamepad users to come closer, performance wise, to wheel and pedal users. But performance aside. It is simply more fun. More control of the car means more enjoyment.
Giving players double the steering accuracy capacity is simply awesome.
With the triggers/pedals already having trigger vibrational feedback for traction limit, as it is now, I find my pedal accuracy sufficient to addapt to circumstancial needs of the game, already as it is.
But giving double steering accuracy would really feel enlightening also in terms of joy and ease. And a bigger feeling of emmersion and more intuitive and more natural feeling.
I know this would require allot of testing and development time, but I believe it might be worth a try. As an improved edition to the game that is already immensly great as it is. Even with 90 degrees left or right, the game already feels immensly well developed and fine tuned to perfectio. I can only imagine how amazing full 360 or 350 degree of steering capacity on a gamepad thumbstick would feel. It would open up a whole new extra big window for player control.
How come I never thought of this? It's definitely worth a try. Would love to experience more freedom on a gamepad.
Very innovative idea and easy to apply =)
Sounds good to me.
thanks
Going downhill braking to an increasingly sharp left turn at Bahrain, I always feel that if I had just a little bit more accurate steering ability, it would be perfect.
I really hope they will implement this to this game or the one after it.
Yeah, so many corners my steering is off by so little. With 360 degree steering capacity of the left thumbstick utilized, I would be able to easily nail all the corners. That would feel so sweet. I could be allot more smoother around many corner entries and exits.
I also really really hope they will implement this. It would improve the fun of the game by so much.
Oh man... I want this ability so much. And I want it ASAP!
I hope they wont wait for an entire year to apply it.
Please this! As a christmas present for all f1 23 players! 🙌
Yeah I want it yesterday. It makes me sad every day that I play without it. This game is so much fun. It would be so much more extra fun with 360 steering. Makes me wanna beg ea codemasters to add it to the game now. I would be able to enjoy this game right now so much.
No more feeling like my controller is at fault. I want the full 360 degree of freedom to really go for super good and consistent lap times.
If they were to implement this now to the game. I wont be able to play any other game except f1 23. All other racing games would no longer be enjoyable without 360 steering. I'd definitely be stuck with this game for the whole year. Untill other companies pick up on this innovation. If not then just f1 23 and I'd buy f1 24 right after it. No racing game should have a lack of 360 steering.
hah, those are quality problems. It's just good for ea codemasters if they are the first to pick up on this 360 degree rotational capacity of the left thumbstick innovation.
Everyone will know codemasters was the first to implement this feature. It would bolster their already even great reputation.
I think it's only very good for the company. To show superior logic.
Here I raise a glass of hot coffee for EA, Codemasters and 360 degree steering in f1 23.
