Race Restarted after Mid Session Save

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Save and reload a Mid Session Save
What happens when the bug occurs? Screen briefly goes black, all cars are returned to the grid, lap counter is rest, etc.
What do you expect to see? Race continues from where I left off
I was playing Driver Career Mode, and had saved Mid Session after about 25 laps in Suzuka, when I went back to the race, I had the usual flashback screen to pick up where I left off, but after I pressed square to flashback, the game briefly black screened, and lined all the cars back on the grid and reset the laps. I was also given a warning for improper parking or something along those lines. The weird thing is, when I first started the race in my original session, it was wet so all the cars started on Inters, and switched to slicks after it dried. However after the glitch restart, it was back to Lap 1 rain, but all cars were on the slicks that they had before the glitch. It might also be worth mentioning in my original session, there was no formation lap even though I have it switched on. ERS is also depleted as I had been using it. I tried force shutting the game and reloading, but the exact same thing happened when I pressed square to flashback.
EDIT: After continuing the race after the glitch restart, the AI are choosing to stay on slicks even though it’s pouring and they’re constantly sliding off track, the engineer is giving me strategies to go on to slicks after I pitted to change to inters, and inters are a lot faster. The cars that were ahead of me before the glitch never got reset to the grid and just say DNF on the timing screen even though they’re still in their original positions before the glitch.
EDIT 2: I have track position by a mile, however it still says those 2 DNF’ed cars are ahead of me in the positions. It also seems that all the fuel that was used before the Mid Save is gone, and now my car is severely underfueled.
