Re: 10 Second Corner Cut Penalties

Sorry pal, I see no reason to amend anything - including what we said previously. That's because:

  • Have no idea what their (other stewards) reasoning is. "It's too harsh" is not a proper reason, it's an opinion. If they want to disregard the rules "because it's too harsh", that's a different matter entirely.
  • Don't remember seeing a 3s penalty in this sport for the last two eras. To be fair nor even before that, but my memory isn't elephantic
  • Going off my faulty memory again: 3 off tracks give you a black flag. A 4th gives you black flag. A 5th gives you a 5s penalty. Any subsequent off track gives you 10s penalties, each. The 2023 Austrian GP had a reset on the counting after the first 10s penalty, but I'm not sure that ever made it to the sporting code - nonetheless, bears repeating I've never seen a 3s penalty.

Leagues are obviously free to do as they choose. But "it's too harsh, don't like it" is a reason to change the rules for the future, not to not apply them in their current state.

Edit: I'm referring to the real F1 rules by the way.

Whatever the game does differently, it's pretty safe to assume it does that precisely because "it's too harsh" and doesn't want to spoil casual players' fun by adhering to the real rules.

But the ramping up you see in the sport (warnings to flag to 5s to 10s) should be observed.
