@PaulMarrableCM Sadly I haven;t got a reaction on my longer reaction at you.
The most important updates we need on short term are
- On Demand racing
- Remove the preferenced teams, and let everyone choose one of the 22 drivers!
- Remove TIERS, add a number of maximum players
- Add AI Support
Longterm:
- Put the old ingame menu back, and let people choose if they want to use Racenet or not....
For the rest. The website is SO BUGGY! My got, how could anyone approve this? Adjusting league settings ingame cost me 1 MINUTE!!! In Racenet, almost 5 to do exactly the same! This issn't a improvement, on ANY LEVEL! I realy realy tried, but trying to set up a league on Racenet is just full of frustrations. It doesn't work! It doesn't have to be this way! For the love of god, take your time at EA to make something that WORKS, and then implement it.... Remove Racenet from F1'23 and introduce it in F1'24!
EA tried, but FAILED! - PaulMarrableCM2 years ago

@Raymond-Smits Sorry, totally my fault for not replying.
I was waiting for the go-head to be allowed to confirm the Racenet phone app before replying, then it slipped my mind.
Anyway, we did launch a mobile app yesterday, which I hope does make things a bit easier for people.
Yeah, totally agree. Those are both at the top of our priorities.
On-demand is currently in the testing phase, so that should be along shortly. The AI and team allocation requires an update game side though, so that's slightly further down the road unfortunately.
Regarding putting the in game menu back in, there's not really much I can do there. I did pass your feedback on though. - Mu5hr00m_K1ngd0m2 years agoNew Rookie
@PaulMarrableCM is the mobile app on Playstore? Can't seem to find it.

Thanks @PaulMarrableCM . Tried to sideload the APK but app keeps crashing. Will keep an eye on any updates. Thanks!
- Krasius3032 years agoNew Traveler@PaulMarrableCM Knowing that adding AI will require EA to work on it with a patch worries me a bit. I am not confident with them. History tells us quite often how they let things go.. And they still have to fix bunch of things. I really hope this will end well 🙂
- lpartymartyl2 years agoNew Rookie@PaulMarrableCM Just add a save option for multiplayer Grand Prix and the problem is fixed. You have all the options there, full league, AI drivers, On demand racing, choose a driver etc. the only thing you can’t do is save it, no one’s going to do a full season in one sitting. Just add a save option and it’s solved. Simple. I knew when EA bought this game they would completely mess it up. Me and 4 friends have bought this game and don’t even play it lol won’t be buying next years until I know this simple option is on the game from the go. Ridiculous It’s not. Games should never push or force league play on players, most of the player base are casual games and don’t care for esports.

EA Staff
@lpartymartyl Do you mean add a save option in the game itself?
I can't really comment on anything game side as I work on Racenet, but no one would expect anyone to do a full season in one go.
Once you have completed a scheduled race, the results are saved and displayed in Racenet (and in game). Then when the next scheduled event is complete the results are added to the standings. So there would be no need to do more than 1 race in a session. - @PaulMarrableCM Any news on when on demand leagues/adding AI is coming?
- Raymond-Smits2 years agoRising Vanguard
What he means is that you have a ingame option called Custom Multiplayer Race. This looks exactly the same as the old league did in F1’22 (and F1’22 also had this Multiplayer option). He’s proposing that you add a option to save this custom races you do there, and on that way create a custom league-like situation, as we all would like to have it.
It’s the same concept as I already gave as option. Just re-add the old League menu (it’s already in the game, you use the same game-engine and code as last year games, it had the exact same bugs in the menu as F’21 and F1’22, so please don’t call F1’23 a new game, it’s just a big update on a platform that’s already more then 6 years old), and add Racenet as a extra feature. Then the 95% of the people have the good old league back we all loved to play and all want to have, and an extra menu option for a Racenet league for the other 5% of the people.
EA is loosing potential buyers in my opinion (and from what I read and hear), not only for F1’23 but also for future F1 releases. And that's a bad thing The main focus of EA is wrong at this point. And I know you alone are not EA, and you as a hard working person is doing everything you can to help us and give us a feeling we are heard about this.
But the problems are much deeper, in the core of this game and the focus EA has with this fantastic franchise. There are so many option EA could add, what we as fans are asking for for years, not all we get is things like ingame Sport Cars (nobody drives in or nobody use it), a virual room with furniture etc (please, it’s a race game, not The Sims), and now a game session that’s removed from the game, and added on a external website, that doesn’t give us the freedom we had before, and removed a ton of functions.
But we still got a very old circuit of SPA, Game bugs that are in the game since F1’20 and F1’21 that still aren’t fixed (I presume because the priorities are not into fixing problems but try to put new stuff in a Racegame that nobody wants). Gives us old tracks, give us a real career mode with all the F1 cars from 2013 till 2023 (you have build them in this game engine already, you have/had the licenses). Add F3, the W-Series or even the Porsche Cup (if you stay with the concept of using Supercars in a F1 game). That are features that let MORE people buy the game!
As many already told here, nobody is waiting for a option to create sessions OUTSIDE of the game. The big part of the community are casual players. They sit on a sofa or in a sim, going trough the options INSIDE the game, and start the race. We don’t want to go on out cellphone, laptop, pc or any other device to TRY and configure something that is basically still in a BETA fase (with all the options that are missing and not working). Your main focus and main audience is not the few influencers you have online and play the game (sometime realy realy bad), but the big group of casual players, that are into F1, and buy this game because they can race with the most accurate F1 cars. Give this group the feeling they all want, and that’s the WOW factor everytime they start the game an start a race! And yes, I understand that you are part of the Racenet team, and you get paid for making it as it is and making it better. But the truth is, that how hard you work on it, it will never be accepted by the 95% of the people that play this game and these leagues.
There are a lot of forums about this, and chats on Twitch/Youtube, messages on Discord etc about the dislike of this feature. And how hard you try to make it into something, the main part of what we are asking and saying is not heard. And that’s that we don’t want Racenet! We want these option back into the game itself, and not on a different device then that we are playing on. This is not why game consoles are created! I hope that you have the “power” to let management know how we truly feel about this!
And again, this is absolutely nothing personal on you! I really respect you, as a person and a developer, to come here and chat with us! I really do! And all the work you have done so far. I hope you understand the feelings of the biggest group of gamers too.
Agree with everything you have said. I think you have put together every comment made by people on this forum into one post ha.
Is there any further update with On demand play / old league system?
The game is almost a month old now and its just been sat in the drawer gathering dust...with the disc in it this time lol. We will never know but I wonder how many people have actual decided to trade in / sell the game or just never pick it up again due to what's happened. I do think its going to effect next years sales. Such a shame with the direction EA have taken the F1 game into. I wish my friends and I didn't trade in F1 2022 to get 2023 lol...We could still be playing.

@Nabberzzz I'm afraid I'm not allowed to give any exact dates, the best I am allowed to say is coming "soon" which isn't much help.
The on-demand stuff is currently in test though and seems to be going well, and looks like I should be in a position to start the AI work early next week.
Really sorry I can't give you a more exact timeline ☹️ - Dismal_Games2 years agoSeasoned Vanguard
Hey @PaulMarrableCM . We ran into an issue in a race yesterday. Two drivers were disconnected. When they went to join back in (during qualifying) that current race no longer showed, instead it was showing next weeks race only. Is there something I’m missing that would allow me to get them back into the lobby?

@PaulMarrableCM any response from the app devs on compatibility for Z Fold 4?
Cheers

@Raymond-Smits Yeah, I think you're right.
Looking back through the replies, I think I'm ultimately addressing a different issue to the one you are raising.
I think I'm probably better off creating a new thread just for the Racenet leagues feature feedback, as this thread is does appear to be more about the removal of the feature from the game itself, which I can't really help with I'm afraid.
I have passed your feedback onto my management, and I believe one of them has been in contact with you already.
If I do hear anything around the in-game leagues returning, I'll certainly keep you updated.
Thank you for all feedback around this BTW - PaulMarrableCM2 years ago

@Dismal_Games I believe the upcoming event stops showing 15 minutes after the start time. However, you should be able to invite players back in from within the game.

@PaulMarrableCM Hey Paul,
That's correct. I'm in contact with a friendly manager, who is, just as you, looking to really help and listen to us. I told him the same as I wrote here. I'm a big fan of the F1 francise, and I'm playing F1 games since F1 Grand Prix, have been a modding F1 games in Grand Prix 2, Grand Prix 3 and Grand Prix 4. Also released some mods for the EA F1 Championship in 2000 until one of the best EA F1 games,F1 Career Challenge (2003), and never missed a single season of a Formula 1 game. There have been some good games, and some bad games in them, But for me personaly it feels like the focus is slipping away at this time at EA. A F1 game has to be about racing, en to make it easy for everyone to play. So my reactions can be a bit pasionate, but that's because I'm such a deep fan of F1, and I'm giving the feedback to hopefully get a better game expierence for all of us fans, and help you and your team with it. I have a feeling that nobody has has the courage to realy speak out against something, to try and help. That's why I post here with my real name. I'm not affraid of giving comment in my name. I don't give these comments to publicly ridicule anyone. I have a lot of respect for people that work in the game industry, because I know with my IT knowledge and my modding expierence how things can be done, and how hard you guys have to work for it. And I know how hard it is to have creative ideas that don;t fit with the business model.
And that's what I'm trying to archieve here. To be a voice for the big group of casual gamers, that are just into F1 and racing games. And just want to have fun and race, with as less as interference as possible. No extra devices, no extra sites or app. Just a game with a normal menu structure, with a game purely focused on a real F1 experience, with up to date graphics (look at Grand Turismo or Forza as example, F1 games could look a lot better then it does now). That would be things more gamers would pay money for. To have that wow effect!
Thanks for passing my message to the management. And please stay in touch and post the update here. The few people that like racenet deserve the options they are missing.
- @Raymond-Smits Keep up the good work, we shall get there eventually! For now we can’t take our racing seriously - all we do are meaningless online multiplayer lobbies 😞

Any updates? Nothing in the new patch. Been a month now and we are playing something else because this stupid company completely forgot to port functionality over to racenet or just set it up separately as it used to be

Same here and my 5 friends!
Haven't played the game yet, so disappointing 😔

Yea, me too. The 7 other guys in my league keep asking me when they can buy the game to start up the league again and I keep having to pass along the reasons as to why it can't happen. I think they are losing their patience and their desire to even get the game now.
