so essentially, what you want to do is navigate to the "Documents\My Games\F1 23" folder in your C drive. Once there, make a make a copy of the "savegame" folder. Afterward, open the F1 game and select "create new save file. Then, go back to the "savegame" folder, navigate to "ea\profile," and locate a file, named "NXDSMWW.BWW" or somet similar lengthy name (it might vary for each person) Copy and paste this file back into the F1 game This particular file contains your settings, setups, and my career progress. Repeat the process for the "highlights00," "001," and "002" files, excluding "midsessions0" because I assume it might be the corrupted.
hope this was clear.- SteveJackson2 years agoHero (Retired)
Thanks for posting back.
That explanation is fine except the filepath is incorrect
The files are located in the Steam profile
(will add from PC)
This method will not save the mid-session save.
However, this method will be good if it will save setups etc.
I will also add caveats after replication.
Im on ea not steam

Okay thanks. I'm on Steam so can't replicate your findings. Stuff stored in that filepath on Steam isn't anything other than hardware_settings_config.xml that can be deleted when troubleshooting.
Replying to this because you are a hero my friend. I have spent so long trying to fix this and finally found your thread. Thank you!!!!
Thank you very much, I'm on F1 24 and the process is exactly the same. I tried first doing what you did copying all files you said (highlights00 001 etc), but ended up the same, with corrupted files. So I only copied the NXDSMWW.BWW file, that was enough to restore my career process. I hope this can help other players to find the solution
