Re: F1 23 Logitech G923 not working / very low FFB

I also have zero FFB on this game for my G923 - works perfectly fine in F1 22.

this is so beyond frustrating - can we please prioritize this as we’ve all paid for early access and can’t even play the game.

I've said repeatedly now that I stand by the advice. Update the wheel.

It's like you think that firmware is something bad. I'm sorry it's awkward for those that don't have a PC / claim it works everywhere else. The firmware isn't changed unless it's an overall benefit - I don't understand why you would wait for an issue to change it.

You only have to look here at the number of issues that are being resolved by a combination or firmware and / or drivers. 

I'm not saying it's not a game issue, but I'm fairly certain that this will be resolved in a similar fashion.

ALL users read these threads to solve issues. You can plug a G923 into a PC and not install GHub, not update firmware. But then if you post a bug because you haven't done this step then it creates noise on the forum and detracts from the actual issues. Plus, some fixes may not actually work if you don't do this as a prerequisite. You can buy a "new old stock" wheel for your console, sans updates.

It's a bit meta to hate on the game series or the developer.

Just want to clear up some things. I’ve updated my g923 via Logitech g hub to the latest available firmware, but no luck. The wheel still loses all ffb as well as pedals at times and even if it does work after restarting the wheel the ffb is practically non existent. First 20 degrees or so of rotation feels absurdly mushy and unresponsive, past that point you can feel the ffb kick in a bit more but that initial turn in is still horrific. I get where you’re coming from with the whole update your wheels to ensure it’s not on your end, but I don’t think it’s on any of our ends, clearly an issue with how the game feeds info to the Logitech wheel bases

Imagine paying for the Champions Edition just to play 3 days early,  then when you go to play the wheel you race with is unusable.  I believe that EA should refund us the difference of the Champions Edition for not making sure things were playable for everyone on release.   STILL WAITING ON A FIX!!!!

Champ. I have plugged my 923 into my computer and looked in GHub. Guess what, firmware up to date, Xbox up to date, game up to date. Game is broken and it’s to be fixed as the replies above say. Time to eat your words.

An update has not fixed my issue. 

I can get it to work by disconnecting then connecting g923 on Xbox while the game is running but still no ffb. 

so there clearly is a problem thanks for the advice but it hasn’t helped. Is there anyone looking at this? Clearly a lot having exactly same problems.

If you read the thread then the advice is clear. Always update the wheel and await the patch (the patch notes may again say that wheel update is required). 

Options to push hotfixes are easier on PC but it is better to get as many issues together in one patch and patch submission approval from Sony and Microsoft is not under EA control.

Sorry to dampen enthusiasm, but the standard disclaimer is that "upcoming patch" does not mean the next patch but literally an upcoming patch.

A thing to remember is no-one is doing this on purpose and other parties are involved.

Finally it is clear that it is being worked on. It is not always the efforts or one team but a process of feedback and testing.

Sorry you feel that way, but it’s tiresome reading rants, they’re not qualitative.

I get you feel a bit deprived of something, after all it is basic functionality, but it is what it is. 

If there were more qualitative feedback amongst the noise it would be great. 

Console yourself that someone IS reading your bile or your lack of detail or your rant and trying to piece together a picture of what is actually going on. 

I must stress it’s not the majority, the majority are trying to help (self included) but if people are only going to kick off about how I interact then that’s what is attracting comment. I’m broad shouldered enough to realise what is happening but if people feel the need to speak plainly, then I can respond plainly. 

So, once again, I’m sorry you feel this way. Perhaps you don’t like my response to your responses on this issue but check my post history.

Sorry ur gonna be disappointed. Still not fixed and it won’t be. Ea has no intention to release another patch after the one on release. That only fixed the lower g29 and g920. 

@SteveJacksonI find it odd you feel you need to reply to "rants".. if you too have nothing to contribute.. or you could just be civil and not have a condescending undertone to your replies. If you can help. Chime in. If not, well.. like my mom said.. have a great day man. Hopefully things get easier on your mental.  That way you don't feel the need to reply with nothing to help.. lastly these rants you speak of, are consumers that didn't get what they paid for.  So I completely understand wanting to vent a little. It's my personal opinion that the open beta is too close to release to really catch anything but absolute showstoppers. Not my call.

There are other open issues that are being tracked against the Logitech wheels, so it's not straightforward. These are joint issues. Not solely within EA control.

I'm not on a high horse. But the fact is that there are too many open Logitech G* FFB threads, there is not enough moderation and there is too much noise. I try to advise, but moderating is beyond my remit.

Don't know for example how many times people have been advised to update the wheels and not to use rest/snooze/quick resume modes on consoles.

It's very easy to be critical. I'm not a programmer, but I take ownership of configuring my device to work. Like it or not, consoles are like cut-down custom PCs these days.

The G923 and G Pro wheels are not finished product when you buy them. The option of updating for future compatibility is both a benefit and a hazard.
