- Meza9942 years agoSeasoned Ace@MPHGp As i said its the gearbox.. Its limited to 351kph - which is about right for 13k RPM for real life Mercedes (AMR and Williams got a little different gearing IMO).. Problem is ingame the gearbox cant go over 13k rpm while they can IRL, hopefully this gets changed
I have the same issue, but the car I use is the MyTeam car. You say it's the gearbox but when I watch Aarava's MyTeam series on youtube, he's able to go to 226 mph (363 kph) and he just runs out of straight it's not because the car can't go faster. So idk why this is an issue for me and others. (I use the Ferrari engine in my MyTeam if it has anything to do with it).
- Meza9942 years agoSeasoned Ace@lJustMaxl First of all you shouldnt take anything going on in Aaravas videos as "normal" he is known to mod things and script stuff to make his videos, so making gears longer wouldnt be a problem.
Regarding your problem it shouldnt happen with a Ferrari engine, could you describe more what exactly happens? Yeah sure. Well, there isn't really much to say other than when I drive on power tracks where the cars reach high speeds my MyTeam car just tops out at 351 kph which I think is very strange. Mostly I hit 351 quite easily and then it just stops. Even with DRS, ERS, and slipstream.
Also as the first guy mentioning the problem said, it makes weird noise when it hits 351 kph like the engine sound is completely different.
Thanks to you for trying to help 🙂
- Meza9942 years agoSeasoned Ace@lJustMaxl Yeah thats definitely the Rev limiter, its exactly that sound you hear thats so weird and different..
Are you sure you picked the Ferrari engine and not accidentally picked Merc? Should theoretically only affect those cars and if its also affecting other then something is really going wrong.. I will probably check the latest patch files for car performances tomorrow if they somehow switched it up (currently dont have them as a back up) but definitely weird if you really have the Ferrari🤔 Now you make me question myself. I will check up on it tomorrow and you'll hear from me then.
I've looked at the power unit now and it is indeed the Mercedes power unit as you said. So for next season, I'll try the Ferrari one.
Any idea about whether they are going to change the rev-limiter for the Mercedes power unit or?
- Meza9942 years agoSeasoned Ace@lJustMaxl Dont know, its a known issues since the beginning and a solution was provided be the ex leading handling developer over a month ago but we havent heard from it since so i cant give you any info on that.
Yeah switching to Ferrari, Renault or Red Bull should help 🙂 alright, thanks a lot for the help 🙂
