Re: Meca Cup1 pedals detected but not working

Hey, Hoyt!

This is the official list of supported wheels and peripherals for F1 23. Looks like Meca wasn't included.

I'm on iRacing as well, but F1 titles I rarely bother to set up the wheel as the FFB genuinely feels better on a pad - to me at least -, so I play them on my PS5 only. I can't be of much help there, sorry about that.

And due to the franchise focus, I'm afraid you'll have a better shot at finding someone that got it working on Meca's own communities - forum, Discord, etc - than here at EA AHQ. There's not much of an overlap between AHQ users and proper simracing gear.

It took months for F1 23 to make peace with my Logitech Pro Wheel as well, so... yeah, I feel you on not having this title playing ball with our hardware 🙃

I guess you could shoot a suggestion to make F1 23 compatible with it, or at least future titles, but I wouldn't have my hopes high. This franchise's business model would hardly allow devs to allocate their working hours and resources to make the game support this sort of enthusiast rig.

It is up to us players to deal with the hoops and loops necessary to work around it, but you'll be hard pressed to find someone that succeeded at it hanging around here.

    Thank you for the response.

I will reach out to other forums as you suggest.

Than you for sending the list of supported hardware.  In hindsight, I should have looked at that list before I purchased F1 23.  As shown in the attached image, someone at EA has written code that detects the Meca Cup1 pedals.  Thus, I am hoping that someone has figured out how to use them.  If not, I will go. back to iRacing.

I am new to F1 23.  I assumed that F1 23 players utilized, to use your term, enthusiast rigs.  I guess I was mistaken.  My rig actually includes a 7 actuator Prosimu motion simulator.  Via SimTools, Prosimu supports F1 23.  However, without pedals, I don't see much use in pursuing F1 23.

I am not as well versed in PC things as some fellows here, but I wouldn't write off what you see as your pedals broadcasting their name, F1 23 reading it, but when you get to to set them up properly the game spills a "hey I can see them but I have no idea how they work".

Regarding the "enthusiast" bit, it is silly, but we need to grow on our vocabulary when you get to go back and forth so often between iRacing, ACC etc and F1, GT7 and the like. From time to time we get people complaining about their game not working just to learn they're using a Hori wheel with no FFB they got on Target or something. Well, it is a wheel isn't it? Heh

It's somewhat safe to assume, based on our history here and on the original Codemasters forum, that most of the player base play on a pad. Then you'll get players on entry level Thrustmaster wheels and G27 or G29. A smaller slice of that pie will have Fanatec gear. Now start throwing names like Asetek or Heusinkveld around and it's a fair chance people will have to Google those to know what you're on about.

So yeah, I wouldn't be willy nilly saying "enthusiast" if we were chatting on iRacing forum or race department.
