Re: More strict penalties

@Nhflk46"Its very, very, very common to see guys hitting you when you are overtaking them; or doing brake check making you DNF."

Just those two situations, happened to me today, and lost like, 100 points for that. There are already some threads and conversations about griefing, dirty drivers, ranked balancing, etc etc.

I think it happens in every game that have a competitive scene, and sadly, there will always be.

Are there people who really doesn't care about ruining someone else experiences and goals? yes.
Does it demotivate you to keep playing and progressing? yes.
Is it fair? No.

What i can absolutely agree, that a lot games with a competitive scene (like F1 23), does not discourage that kind of bad behaviours, and a lot of people can get away with it.
In ranked specifically, you can dnf a couple of dudes in a race, cutting almost every corner without any consequence (a couple of warnings maybe), and you can still be in gold tier, and A license.

It's never an easy task to balance a competitive game, (it's ok, if it is an easy game to pick up, and hard to master) but if the game allows anyone to do whathever they want... sooner or later it start to be frustrating, and not be fun anymore (it's a game after all, It should be fun, above all things)

Ranked is disappointing. Once you get into Gold lobbies, corner cutting should be on strict and collision penalties should be severe. Surely the algorithm should see that three times in the race, player A collides with Player B and Player B suffers terminal damage 3 seconds later. Player should see a DSQ and a week ban

ranked should be extremely strict & competitive......

1.strict penalties with black flags for dirty drivers.

2.no custom setups everyone should be on a level playing field just for this mode.

3.track restrictions should be realistic players going extremely wide & gaining a advantage makes this a arcade game with no sim at all.

4.no racing line there is only 3 tracks a week so it is not hard to learn the racing line unlike if all tracks were there each week i would get the racing line being in ranked.

    1. agree, and after 3 black flags it's a ban for certain time, and that will build up to permaban
    2. no, having your golden setup is key, real world works the same, nobody has the same setup, and if you are the one with a less tyre aggresive setup and in the end blow past everyone gives a feeling of nailed it
    3. track limits are a joke anyway, with strickt or regular on
    4. racing line only slows you down

my addition to the competetive factor,, we have "force cockpit cam" now, put that also to ON (for elite or higher gold) because i can tell from experience, that it's way harder to put in good, steady, consistent laptimes in cockpit mode compared to tcam which is also an assist IMO.
