Re: Safety car increased settings no working

@Kuba_HB After doing formation lap in either broadcast or immersive. Start race as normal. Then pause and restart session. You will have to do this for every race start. But issue is all safety car and damage settings are disabled until race start. But they don’t enable until lights go out like they should. Restarting in most cases does enable them

So you mean if I do your procedure - formation lap - race start - restart of the race - I get SC even when some Ai DNF because of engine failure and parks next to the track?

@Kuba_HB Yes it’s 100% an issue that Damage system doesn’t activate properly at race starts. So Ai cars don’t receive damage when they have collisions with other cars and environment. So less chance the safety car will come out: i did 2 full seasons on 50% race length. Entire time only one Ai car crashed out with terminal damage. At end of Every race I check race director and pits stops and no Ai car ever pitted for front wing damage. Raised this with developers months ago and was told they couldn’t replicate lack of damage.

So I started testing with damage set to simulation and safety car set to high. I would on purposely crash my car into the Ai and took videos and photos of the lack of damage I and Ai cars would get. The dev team now know it’s a problem. But not confident they will fix it. I then started testing looking for a workaround. And finally found one. You have to have formation lap set on for it to work. Then once race starts restart session as that takes you back to moment the race lights start to count down. Damage will now be on whatever you’ve set it: I recommend simulation as whatever setting reflects both how you and Ai receive damage. Easier they get damage more likely a safety car will need to come out.

Also try not to use flashbacks during race as that may also trigger damage to disable and I can’t be 100% sure as I think that happens randomly. Sometimes flashbacks have no effect other times they do.

Workaround does not work on sprint races.

Thanks to EA they have Also passed on to dev team information off workaround. But like I said don’t expect a fix so unfortunately restarting session is the only thing we can do to make game to work as it should during races

Thanks for description, I will try it. But still ... it should be fixed by devs.

@Kuba_HB @ScarDuck14  What I have been noticing about settings resetting themselves is that it happens when you switch between different game modes world, GP, Career ranked. My workaround is if I switch between modes, I've been restarting the game. OK, it's not great for time. But maybe this information could help them to solve the problem. Also, why maybe they can't recreate it as they will just be loading the mode straight away, so it doesn't show as a problem.

@DRudd13 I thought this also. One of the tests I did was to nuke my game save data and restart who knew game and went straight to myteam career. But still had the same problem with damage model

However you are probably on to something with other issues with the game. Things I know from various sources gives me the impression various different F1 world events are the likely culprit.

@ScarDuck14I have been doing a GP mode season and have the formation lap set to broadcast, to build up the excitement before the race starts, lol. But last week I had been doing some F1 World events before I continued my GP season. But the first race I loaded up I couldn't use flying lap in qualifying and there was no formation lap, I checked the settings before the next GP, and they were reset and all grayed out, so I couldn't change them. I restarted the game and checked the settings and they were back to what I had set and back to white. Went to the next qualifying session and flying lap was available again. And before the race, the formation lap was also back.

@DRudd13 This is why I don’t think some things will be fixed. Because I think if they find it to complex and if fix one they will then break another.
