Reprise - Low Hanging Fruit Thread

Reprising a list of suggestions I started for F1 22.

Hey guys,

I think it might be useful to put to together a list of “low-hanging fruit” improvements that could be made in updates/ future titles.

These improvements should be small, pretty easy to achieve in full, ideally having no (or minimal) impact on other parts of the game - which I appreciate is very subjective. 

I fully appreciate there are big bugs that need to be sorted and larger improvements/ new features that should be made to the game, but I just feel there are things out there that could be achieved quickly that could have a real benefit to people’s experience.

I’ll start with 4;

- accurate rain effect on camera, i.e. raindrops moving outward from centre (probably on the limits of my own guidelines for what constitutes “low-hanging”)

- a bright outline on the car indicators in the mini-map when on track (hard to see dark colour indicators) - a thin white outline would do

- sector and speed trap markings on the track map when in the garage session screens

- display speed trap position on results screen after session, and speed at speed trap. If possible, add speed at speed trap to view lap times in race director

Please do share your thoughts, I will update the list as appropriate suggestions are made.

Compiled list of suggestions made in this thread/ spotted on other threads so far;

  • accurate rain effect on camera

  • display speed trap position and speed on results screen after session, and in race director
  • More save game slots for all game modes
  • All menus to have full cycle ability i.e. at end of list, right/down to go to top of list, at top of list, up/left to go to end of list
  • Add assist filters to TT leaderboards, and add in racing line as a recorded assist
  • Have control of weather settings in career modes i.e. a 'no rain' option
  • Pop-up message which warns you when trying to enter a session where you have an engine component installed which is >= 50% worn
  • Allow for longer team names (currently limited to 22 characters)
  • Sort out display of min/max values; for things like camber - as I understand it actual max camber is to the left not right
  • Display number of race laps in garage workstation screen, maybe in the track layout “in session” screen
  • Allow customisation of the first MFD screen - for options we want to use the most and have easier access too without flicking through multiple MFD pages
  • Engine supplier logo is visible on the car or selectable in the sponsor decals
  • Volume slider for upshift “beep” tone 
  • Relating to F1 World goals: Show which tracks are High/medium/low tyre wear, H/M/L downforce, H/L speed etc etc
  • Mini-map: ability to set the zoom in/out of the mini-map
  • cockpit view: ability to remove wheels/hands
  • Add a secondary “are you sure” prompt when selecting to restart session 
  • Ability to change the size and transparency of the gamer tags/names above the cars
  • Options for a tinted "helmet visor" for cockpit view
  • Display surface tyre temps on in-game steering wheel when "Surface Only" is chosen in setup menu for tyre temps.
  • Transparency slider for halo column and/ or whole halo
  • Ability to preview custom colours on items in store (featured in previous games)
  • Show % wear for available “used” tyres in pit MFD
