Seriously? Ranked is a joke.

So, it's race week in Japan yet Japan isn't included  in the 3 track we get to race on..but we do get China again after having it last week.

Auto return to track is still enabled as well.

And yall want us to pre-order '24? Lmao! No chance. Sucks to have zero faith that '24 will be any better.

@AgentMlB The way some can retain their rank is if they get promoted in the last week of a podium pass season. For example, if a player gets promoted from gold to elite in the last week, they won't get to race in elite, but will get the email saying they were promoted. But will also get the email saying they were demoted to gold, so it looks like they have retained their rank.

Yeah, I'm good making these post here. Don't like it, don't read it. If they don't want me to post these sorts of things they can easily address these concerns. It's been since the game released and it's been nothing but silence in regards to Ranked lobbies. The truth is the truth.

    Hey there,

Criticism is more than welcome on our boards. We always support communication and are not here to hear only good comments but also to learn from your feedback. However, saying that things "suck" or they are a "joke" without further explanation doesn't help anyone.

I recommend that when you share your feedback with us you do it constructively. It is completely fine if you don't like something and it is okay to communicate it here on our boards. However, take into account that I, as CM, will share this feedback with the Game Team, and if it is not constructive, it will just get ignored.

Yeah, we've been down the "constructive criticism" road for almost a year now and the only response to ranked lobbies is you saying this.

    Thanks for making my point.

    Hey @AgentMlB

I shouldn't fall for this, but I will for once.

I don't know about Halo as I have never played, but I can talk about EA SPORTS FC™ 24 or Apex Legends wich have the same demotion system. Maybe you are not going to accept those because they are EA games. That's fine. Some games (I wouldn't be able to mention all as they are hundreds) that reset the players' ranks after each season:

    • League of Legends
    • Hearthstone
    • Marvel Snap
    • Valorant
    • Fortnite
    • Destiny 2
    • Modern Warfare 3
    • Mortal Kombat 1
    • Overwatch 1 & 2
    • Wild Rift

.... I hope those examples are enough. In addition, as far as I know, all players get their rank reset after the Season ends. If the rank doesn't reset, that is a bug that must be addressed, so if you have proof of that I would appreciate it if you share it with us so I can send it to Codemasters to investigate as I did here.

Finally, this is the last time I answer about this situation as it derails the original topic posted by @FionnlaghM .

Thanks for the response, correct me if I'm wrong,. Based on your explanation, there isn't any incentive for players to participate in the game if heir achievements are reset at the end of a "Podium Pass Season".  It doesn't mention on the EA F1 2023 "Ranking System" information page anything about resetting every player's Rank at the end of a season.  The only exception stated was non-participation could result in demotion (not reset).

This would explain why so few players are currently participating in online races. In my Rank Group there are only 4 of 100 active. That was same thing prior to April 1st.  The only difference was that there was another player competing against me for the "Gold-II Rank"..  As show below, there is only 54 days remaining in the current "Podium Pass Season".  Which I assume is due to the upcoming June 1st launch of F1 24.

So what are the incentives for any player to participate or even purchase the game only to have their achievements reset every season?

What was the response by players to this issue from previous releases of this game (ie: F1_22)?

    Hey @AgentMlB

I understand that there's no much information around this and there are a lot of questions, that's why I have raised it to the team to try to change all this in the future.

Anyway, the incentive might vary for each player. Some players want to play each Season to try to reach a higher rank so they have a feeling of progression. Others do it because of the XP Boost. Others want to enter the Elite Division...

I have to say, some players don't care at all about their rank and they just want to race. For example, I am the worst, but I love playing, so I just do it for fun as I understand that I will never go over the higher ranks. Anyway, I find happiness if one season I reach a higher division than before as I take it as a personal improvement.

Great outlook on life. I tried the "balanced approach".  Work hard, play hard.  I've had a very fortunate life, especially my career path. Not many people get the opportunity to enjoy their career, that I never called it work. The most rewarding part of my job was getting to work with people from all over the world and I took every opportunity to learn their cultures.

Sadly, my life changed after experiencing 3 Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI's) within four years. 2 were sports injury related and the other when I totaled my car into a wall. I learned the hard way not to drive a vehicle with a full leg cast, as I hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

Everything is good now, I was able to take an early retirement. My flying is now limited to MS Flight Simulator and racing is EA's F1 game.  Both help me retain some cognitive and physical functionality. Many doctors and even therapists have commented how the admired my resilience to my health situation.  They said most of their patients just give up.

Now you understand why I'm so passionate about gaming.

    It is completely understandable @AgentMlB

It makes me happy if one of our games helps you and I am sorry to hear that you have had those Traumatic Brain injuries. I'm happy to see that everything is good now.

Keep that passion, we always need passionate players who understand the game to understand what moves you to improve our games. It isn't always possible, but I can assure you that I do my best for your voices to be heard.
