When I launch the game sometimes it needs 6-7 minutes to reach the menu. It comes up like usual, intro plays but after the start screen (Press any button) it become extremly slow. I don't think it was like that at game launch, maybe updates make it worse? Last year and the early game was 4-5 maximum.
Could be EA server issues or maybe your internet connection? The game spends a lot of time talking back and forth to the servers while in the various menus - way too much IMO. So maybe check your connection speed when you find this happening? Only thing I can think of as its usually OK for me - still not snappy but not as bad as it sound for you
