- Meza9943 years agoSeasoned Ace@iggorthegreat The problem is the amount of laps + its too little wear (same as 50% races) so it doesnt even wear like 100% races + there are not enough laps to make up for the time loss of an extra stop.. Its just not working like that and increasing tyre wear a lot will make things just weird, not necessarily realistic! :/ I know its not great but its the short races themselfes that are making it less stops
I wonder how easy it would be to add an additional option in settings for increased tyre wear for player/AI?
there is always mods,but they said that tyre wear would be simulated per % so the 35% races they should be 2 to 3 stops not 1 or maybe 2 if there is a 2 stop not sure,but if it was 100% race then it would,,but thats not what ea were saying at all,they lied obviously
- @iggorthegreat Maybe we'll get a fix in the first update?
I am still disappointed that there is no possibility to custom the tyre wear yourself. For example like you can in GT7. That way you could create more variety in every lenght of the race. And there should also be a possibility to decide the lenght of the race via a percetega or amount of laps, not restricted by the few choises we currently have.
The game should just give us more customization. But that would surely mean that they would have to code the AI properly, which they seem not to be interested in.
agreed

@iggorthegreat if I'm not wrong, I mean I read somewhere but maybe not 'official' reply maybe, the wear is:
1x --> 100%
2x --> 50% (proportionally the same)
2x --> 35%
2x --> 25%
So that, like for 25% the wear is quite few in comparison to what it should be (100% and 50%), that's why you have less pit stop than expected.

I've said it 2 years ago that we need the 75% race distance as well. Even though people might say that is almost the same as an 100% race, I don't think so. And there the strategy would be much better. 2 stops would be viable with that race distance. In 50% races a two-stopper is more like "car dependent"- If you have a fast car with a good performance gap to the teams behind you, you can probably do it, but that is really unlikely.

It’s not just about tyre wear. If doing a 35% race with a 2 stop strategy. both you and the Ai pit window will be the same. And as it’s a short race. There won’t be much off a gap between first place and last. So if you’re in first and you’re driving for Red Bull when you pit. You’ll get stuck in your pit box while half the grid pass you in the pit lane.
I would love a 75% or hour long race option.
The above said, the Ai would need their pit stop logic updating so they react to the cars behind correctly, rather than pit to come out in traffic. It would be nice if they were more dynamic and tried different things to gain an advantage. Sadly they seem to currently be a slave to tyre wear % rather than actively trying to find the fastest way to the end considering the other cars.
Another option to help reduce one stop races would be to speed up the pit stops to mitigate the time lost i.e. have a 2 times quicker stop in a 50% race and a 3 times quicker stop at 35% distance. I wonder how fast the pit stop animation can go without breaking.
