STRANGE OVERTAKES BY THE CPU

Question

It's really strange that in this game i've seen in numerous occasions that CPU is overtaking my car with 2 cars with one going from my left and other overtaking from my right so they basically put me in the middle so there's a car on my left and right. This happened to me like more than 5 times at least in different circuits.

1- F1 drivers don't do such thing, only in very rare occurences probably.

2-They are basically sometimes going from pit lane on the left or right then switch to the regular lane on last second to pull that

3-It nearly never works, when a corner comes i make late braking and go through as first.

Also CPU is significantly more aggresive this year only to a fault i think as they are not not smart and make dumb mistakes. In Jeddah 2 Redbulls tried to steer right when i had the right lane, rushed an overtake and broke their front wing in lap 3 and lap 4 on the same turn. Even when they have speed over me, when they can take over my car easily in the next turn, they are often ultra aggressive, take unnecessary risk and break a part in their cars.

I appreciate a more aggresive CPU but not a dumber one. What do you think about those strange overtakes by cpu and unnecessary aggresiveness of them also?

@lareka you must mean the AI, the CPU (central processing unit) is in your PC/console.

In the past, the AI was just stupid and wasn't challenging, it also rarely made mistakes, which many players didn't like.

Now they are trying to make the AI smarter and more aggressive, but they should also not be too perfect and also be able to make mistakes. The AI is anything but good, but in the past it was often worse.

In real Formula 1, such overtaking maneuvers also occur when the drivers have such an opportunity, you can see something like that in almost every race.

i think the AI need be more agressive when try overtake, in some moments he give up and conceed the position when out side by side, the player need be careful, if you just try close the spaces the AI can crash on you and ruins your race, but most of players just think can close the door, makes zig zag, and dive bomb the car on corner thinking the AI need give up to avoid the accident

that´s don´t happen in real life, you looks want great fights, but in real life if car behind is faster he just overtake you and you accept to avoid accident and can´t move so much to defend like zig zag or close spaces, remember in real life can´t even move the car later of brake zone

So you are basically saying AI was actually dumber and less agressive, it's still dumb but compared to the past it's better. Right?

The moves that they make are nowhere near what happens in real life. Maybe i couldn't explain it in better terms

Actually most of the time they put themselves into trouble other than causing me to crash, they crash in me or completely mistime the corner and i drift away.

Overall i'm happy with the AI but i believe the racing aggresiveness should be on par with their real life profiles.

What i want them to get past me when they have clear speed advantage, i can stall them for a long time, i'm playing on hard difficulty, AI could be smarter
