Thrustmaster 128 xbox one. Stops reading shifts while racing.

I have a thrustmaster 128 for xbox one. I just got f1 23. Im the middle of playing my shifts will not funtion with paddles. The game is unplayable like this and is very frustrating. I am having a hard time with the fact i spent the money on the game for it to do this. F1 22 never had this issue. Not once.
