Hello. I have the same Issue but the workaround fix works not 100%. U can indeed go into "Multiplayer Grand Prix" > ... > and change to "Unequal Performance".
This will then allow u to create a New 2 Player Career with Unequal Performance but sadly u are not able to change it on existing Careers which is very unfortunate if u have half a Season already completed.

This Workaround works only until u restart the Game. Then it got changed to Equal again.
So if u dont play a whole Career in a Day i suppose this isnt a fix at all.

I believe that not being able to change the "Equal Performance" is only tied to the Option being linked to you having Lobby Options aswell which u dont have in Coop Career. And the Default Option is "Equal Performance" so every Restart would have to be considered.
Wait so the fix can’t be done each time you log in to resume the co op career? It only works the first time then it is stuck on equal after you close the app?
I mean i tried it 3 times and it only applies on a new Career i have created and will change back to "equal" everytime the game relaunches.
Havent tested if something changed since then as for me waiting for a new patch to test this.
