VR BROKEN HEAD TRACKING. LETS TALK!

So, I will attempt to conduct this conversation in a way that avoids mods using TOS to apply the hammer.

VR in F1 23 is broken. Read below.

  1. Inaccurate head movement detection: The head tracking system within F1 2023 VR fails to accurately detect and respond to the player's head movements. This results in disorienting and unpredictable experiences, making it difficult to navigate and control the in-game vehicle effectively.

  2. Drifting and lag: Many players have reported a significant amount of drifting and lag in the head tracking, where the virtual perspective does not match the physical movements made by the player. This creates a sense of disconnect and makes it nearly impossible to immerse oneself fully in the game.

  3. Lack of responsiveness: The head tracking system exhibits noticeable delays in responding to the player's head movements, leading to a sluggish and unresponsive gameplay experience. This lack of responsiveness directly impacts the gameplay quality and overall enjoyment of the VR experience.

This topic has been deleted by mods in the past, so let's tip toe on this and avoid a TOS violation.

This topic is here as a constructive outlet for customers of F1 23 not satisfied with the broken state of VR in this game.

With the mods circling this post like sharks, be careful what you say here.

Let's have a constructive conversation about what WE can do to get EA to pay this some attention, cough up the $20k to put a team on this and push out an update to FIX THE VR in F1 23.

  • @Nasty187Its as good as its going to get, they made no updates in F22 and looks like no updates in F23. Probably a big reason its not on PSVR2 because Sony wouldnt accept it. You have to enjoy it for what it is, the F1 license.

@57c8f68321dc240f Coding takes talent and money.

EA is mismanaging the F1 license by causing this issue/blockage to enjoying the content in away that I want to.

I skipped last year because of the VR issues. Purchased F1 23 early because logic would lead me to believe that EA would not want to deal with complaints again.

But maybe its cheaper to pay moderators peanuts to smash down messages like this to cover up the VR problems rather than committing to finding a fix?

Way more likely to get a moderator to close the thread rather than get a reply from someone who has a hand on the development to fix the issue.

I've been buying EA games for over 30 years, and the current environment is just toxic, and is becoming the normality from EA. Push out trash, have the mods stomp out complaints. Thats the business model these days.

Dev team, time to step up, step in, and provide reassurances that you aren't just here to burn the F1 license to the ground. Studio 397 are just waiting at their shot at the F1 license.
  • That would be terrible if they didn't come out with any update to fix the VR issue that you described.  Just curious, what headset are you using and how powerful is your PC?

I have never bought and play a F1 racing game but since it's got good rating so far...will probably try it out.  But hey, if it sucks in VR, I can always return it and get refund, no problem.

I am a highly experienced PC hardware overclocker and enthusiast with decades of experience in fine tuning performance out of a system. I have a high-end gaming PC with a 12900k overclocked on water, 5.3 Pcore, 4.3 Ecore, 32GB DDR4 3600MHz, and an RTX 3080 overclocked on water. I am also using a Pimax 5K Plus VR headset.

Despite having this decent system, I have found the VR implementation in F1 2022 to be unacceptable. The head tracking is jittery and unstable, and the overall experience is far below the standards of EVERY OTHER VR racing game.

I play iRacing at 144 FPS with no reprojection. Same for Rfactor, Assetto Corsa, Automobilista 2, DIRT RALLY 2, and the list goes on.

As expected, EA's developers have not been able to deliver a satisfactory VR experience for F1 2022. It is clear that they are in over their heads, and they do not possess the talent needed to fix the VR issues.

EA, take the VR implementation in F1 2022 seriously and to provide a patch that addresses the performance and stability issues!!!!

I hope someone on the development team reads this and feels a deep, deep shame about how VR is still broken. That means you are a failure. Facts.
