Wheel loses force feedback as soon as F1 23 game is launched.

Product: F1 23
Platform:Xbox Series X
Please specify your platform model. Microsoft Xbox Series X
Summarize your bug Force Feedback is lost as soon as the EA F1 23 game is launched. This happens on Xbox X and on PC The Wheel is Logitech G920, but I'm hearing that it happens also with Thrustmaster and Fanatec wheels.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? NA
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider? Optimum
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Multiplayer
Did you have cross-play enabled? Yes
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Turn on Xbox console and the Wheel does its calibration. I feel force feedback on the wheel OK. - Start the F1 23 game, and immediately the force is gone on the wheel.
What happens when the bug occurs? There is little force feedback on the wheel.
What do you expect to see? It is expected to be force feedback when playing the game.

There are many complains about this issue, from what I'm hearing, since the game was launched it. EA code-master blames Xbox or the wheel manufacturer, but the issue is found on any wheel brands and it is not only on Xbox but on PC as well.
Please provide a solution.
Also this is not specific to Multiplayer only, it fails on any game mode, single player, F1 World any modes.

  • Adding to the wheel issue.
The brake response is very limited. It might be braking OK during one game session, and then loses braking on the next game. It could be related to the Force feedback bug in the game.

Update the wheel firmware via PC (GHub). Try a different USB port.

Sorry but I have done all that already before posting the issue. The issue does not appear to be on the hardware or console. The common denominator appears to be the buggy EA game. There are tons of reports of these issue from people on different platforms and wheels.

My wheel works just fine (Fanatec CSL-E with Formula v2.5). The G920 does have a couple of firmware updates that if not updated (via GHub on PC), can be critical on all platforms.

As the consoles are pretty much a closed shop, you should ensure you are running the latest dashboard (not Insider).

Avoid resting the console (sleep). Restart and perform housekeeping, try the other ports as suggested. AIUI it is recommended to use the wheel as the sole controller when playing F1 as drift from other sticks can have an adverse effect.

    Thanks.

EA continues to blame on the others. I'm on latest Logitech firmware update on PC. Tried all different USB ports. This has to be a Codemasters coding issue. I'm not the only one experiencing this issue.

Not blaming, just ensuring people have carried out the required steps and the troubleshooting.

This cures a lot of issues, no one is claiming the game has no issues, just the majority of them can be solved by following the manufacturer procedures and updating your console or PC.

“Works fine in other games” or “worked on older games” isn’t sufficient. I don’t subscribe to “if it works, don’t fix it” except in the most exceptional, qualified circumstances.

But I guess you don’t post here unless you’re having issues with this title, which we’re trying to help you solve and ensure pertinent feedback is passed up the chain.
