@atfmarko the thing is while the classic cars and track may draw in the traditionalist/hardcore consumers who inhabit this board (and were already likely to buy the game anyway) they don't do much for the modern/ casual consumer (that don't frequent this board) who has no idea where Mugello is or what a Hockenheim is. Hence as others alluded to there's little reason to cough up the dough for the licenses.
I remember they made a big push for classic content back in f1 2013 I think it was and then they never really did it again, so I think they kind of wrote it off as a flop. Sadly, the modern consumer seems more interested in sofas, t-shirts, and supercars that have nothing to do with Formula 1... This phenomenon baffles me but here we are.

I have bought f1 games for playstation every year for years, 2008 was a bad game. 2023 game has been a nightmare, be my first year I am NOT going to buy a f1 game.
update: If you brought in some classic F1 cars I may reconsider my decision!!!!
