CLASSIC CARS, TRACKS
I hope ea ,codies didn't make mistake again... classic cars should be in f1 24 and tracks that we want to see turkey istanbul park mugello hockenheim they should give as f1 old bolides the fast...
@TheRagebeard wrote:@atfmarko the thing is while the classic cars and track may draw in the traditionalist/hardcore consumers who inhabit this board (and were already likely to buy the game anyway) they don't do much for the modern/ casual consumer (that don't frequent this board) who has no idea where Mugello is or what a Hockenheim is. Hence as others alluded to there's little reason to cough up the dough for the licenses.
I remember they made a big push for classic content back in f1 2013 I think it was and then they never really did it again, so I think they kind of wrote it off as a flop. Sadly, the modern consumer seems more interested in sofas, t-shirts, and supercars that have nothing to do with Formula 1... This phenomenon baffles me but here we are.
Then why not offer the classic content as grind or pay? Most pay.
I just wanna see the end of Spiderman race suits and embarrassing podium emotes....car paint jobs, yeah go to town, design your own helmet, like I care.
@SteveJackson I agree, the customization stuff is getting increasingly embarrassing. I remember the first year the liveries were pretty legit, the Union Jack, Stars and Stripes etc. then they sold out to the content creators, now they’re selling out to the highest bidder.
back on the classic stuff though…
one issue with the cars. Pretty much every classic car would need its own handling model to represent the characteristics of that era, unless they were only a few years apart of course. This would be kinda time consuming and personally I’d rather have the devs focused on making the main game the best it can possibly be.
regarding tracks. While the FIA would gladly cut a deal with EA and Mugello to include Mugello, the actual calendar tracks paying increasingly hefty fees to host F1 races might object to allowing outsiders to sneak in and steal a bit of the spot light for a fraction of the cost. TLDR I’m guessing there’s some legal paperwork that would block this.
Why should we even want new stuff, if even what we have does only barely work to the absolute minimum?
TIP: If you want historic cars, give (for example) Automobilista 2 a chance. During the weekend I rushed Sennas MP4/4 through a race at Interlagos - hell that was fun... a completely different experience.
Or am I wrong?
