Just watched this video and fully agree 100%. F124 is poor and for many offers zero enjoyment.
People have had enough of not getting good value for money. I have been a loyal customer for years and pre-ordered with enthusiasm ever year. F124 cost me £90 and is a massive step backwards.
Never again will I pre-order again after F124, not a chance.
Sales are massively down and is it any wonder?
Handling for controller players is now awful.
AI DRS trains. Clearly never tested properly.
A lack of customisation, helmets removed from the store and placed behind a pay and grind system when the game isn't worth playing in the first place.
Repeated bugs year on year.
Is it any wonder sales are massively down?
If EA do not get their act together for F125, sales will plummet even more.
For the love of god, start listening to the community and your loyal customers. How can you make a game so much worse than previous years?
A total lack care and attention to detail. Just rushed out and not properly tested.
They have a chance to save the series and turn it around by dramatically improving the handling model for everyone not just those with wheels.
Get the AI better, improve the DRS trains and for goodness sake add more helmets and general customisation.
GOOD!! I'm so glad these guys are speaking up!! It's the only way EA/Codemasters will get the message, because it's clear they don't listen to us.....
Alex even says in that video that they tell him they don't like him being negative towards the game because it demotivates the devs.... Well, instead of crying about demotivation, buck up and create a game so good that people have nothing to complain about!!
I have pre-ordered every single game in the series since F1 2010. I bought an Xbox 360 back in 2009 JUST because of the up coming F1 game. I have poured hundreds of hours into each game. I have created a grown a successful league with friends and raced with people all over the world.... But I am so fed up and disgusted, having paid £89.99 for this absolute TRASH game, that for the first time in 15 years, I will not be buying the next game. It's a jumping off point for me. What has happened to this series???
The handling is the worst it's ever felt. It's not fun. I don't expect sim level handling and understand that it has to be accessible to all F1 fans, but it's impossible to take corners without the rear sliding all over the place. It's a lottery how the car will turn in.
The number of bugs in F1 24 is just not acceptable for a £90 game. It's not on! They're all very easy to replicate too. No start lights? No wet tyres to start a wet race?? Come on.... How on earth does that get missed? You just have to load the game to find it....
I recently got banned on here for complaining about the 7,500 pit coin priced helmet in the store..... Make of that what you will....
I am the customer. I'm not happy! I feel ripped off. I won't be buying the next game!

I’m too old to understand current day sensitivities and me not being able to keep my mouth shut about silly things that tickle me led to my demise. My own fault I should have known better. However EA had no problem with me having a little champion retired badge. But although I’ve posted countless posts overs the years criticising issues with the game, this year my criticism off game whilst having said badge upset cough cough and it was deemed me having badge was seriously problematic. And as Aarava and Alex mentioned they are expecting Codies to be upset. I expect this post will vanish and I’ll be sent to the cooler🙄
If thats the case. It won’t be because any community managers are trying to silence our complaints. Itll be because what I’ve said is problematic. However Alex and Aarava will be fine. Wont end welltaking them off their Christmas card list as Alex especially is well respected for his opinions by players, pros and other content creators. He wouldn’t have posted such a damning video if he wasnt positive we all feel the same way- 6 months ago
Neither EA or Codemasters have ANY right to be upset over the criticism and no player should be silenced for speaking out. We are the customer and we were charged £89.99 for a mess of a game. The average game releases at £39-59 these days. So £89 is up there as one of the most EXPENSIVE Pre-Order releases out there, and the quality of content does NOT reflect that.
I’ve supported this series since 2009, and over the years I’ve loved every game, except 2014-15… They were just as bad as F1 24!!
I followed the developer diaries in the earlier games and understood that it was a smaller studio working in a tough game. But the passion and enthusiasm came across! I don’t see that now, and with EA backing the franchise, you really should expect a leap in quality. But it’s not there…. No innovation. Content stripped back and put behind a paywall. Pitcoin prices through the roof!!! Same old tired game engine and same bugs copy and pasted every year!!
People say they don’t blame the devs, but it’s those guys that are building the game! It really feels like they haven’t tested anything. I’m sick of hearing that bugs are being passed on to the devs, and then not hearing anything back! Patches come out that have more focus on cosmetic changes and silly F1 world content that NOBODY cares about.. I keep reading that the devs “cannot replicate” a bug, but players are experiencing them every time they load the game. It’s clear that they’re not testing, not playing their own game and the quality of product is just not good enough!and if you know the product has flaws and not at the level expected; don’t have the CHEEK to charge £89.99 for it.

The fact that Meta Critic shows this edition to be the lowest scored by both critics and users is telling.
Now I will say that I play full traction and full brake assists and only do Career or My Team in 16 race seasons at 50% distance with a wheel, so my opinion of the game is a bit more favourable than others.
I like the traction model and curbs. I like the AI wet to dry. I dislike the AI in transition conditions and the way the wet and intermediate tires are handled. The AI is faster at some tracks for me mainly because I can’t lower the qualifying fuel load to the same level at all tracks (looking at you Hungary).
To fix this I would suggest allowing AI tweaks mid session or when restarting a session, or letting players change the weather when restarting if the AI can’t be adjusted.
At a minimum every practice should include both race and qualifying runs and the 3rd should be random. We could then set the AI by retiring from the session in preparation for qualifying if needed.
I like the secret meetings, though they could be better developed and maybe a reporter after races spicing it up by asking questions. I like the level of input I have if I have a senior team mare into what to develop in R&D though the reg changes come far too late when in real life teams have a couple years notice.
I am on the fence with the specialists, and the in race “missions” often make no sense. Let my team mate through is fine, store your ERS in the middle of a battle for position is nuts.
I dislike how my team was turned into their team by cutting out all customization. I always though team owner and driver should be split to let us hot seat our 2 drivers or pick which one to race as for a weekend rather than be the owner/driver.
I hate the length of the new podium pass, the store is useless, and the push to have me play F1 world should stop. I don’t want stickers, specialists for my garage.
On that note, why do I have strangers showing up in my game in the F1 world lobby? And why do you want me to but street clothes and then not give me anything I’d wear in real life? At the age of 55 this is annoying.
Also annoying is the house cut scene, and the decor? Why not have my trophy case in the background and have my last 3 race suits in the display case to show my career progression? Better yet get rid of the cut scene altogether.
As for customization, why can’t I pick the 3 drivers I look at or if I wonder into my garage the cars I am looking at. Why do I have to look at Max, Lewis, and Charles every time, F1 has 20 drivers afterall and 10 teams. Or better yet, if I pick a favourite team and driver in F1 world have them show up to customize the game.
Customization is the weakness, not just badges and liveries (why we get weird clockwork and checkered flag stuff is beyond me) but menus, weather, pit box order, driver avatar. For a game this expensive it just boggles my mind you cannot choose the weather in career and my team modes. And the order of races in the calendar should also be customizable after season 1 at the least. Real weather for each month may be a step too far, but surely Bahrain does not have to be the first race every year does it?
For me the game is not a disaster, just filled with some half baked ideas and some very stupid ones. My purchase of the game depends on 2 things. How enthralled I am with F1 that season (out of CM/EA control) and how good the game was the year before. F1 23 was skipped because Max was dominating and put on the cover and F1 22 did not grab me like F1 2021. I don’t like breaking point. F1 25 is a bargain bin buy at this point at best because I feel this year’s game has abandoned me as a player.
