IF, big if, they really were focussed on making the 75th anniversary game the best ever, fixing all the little things that have plagued the series for the last little while and giving some historic content then I’d forgive them for cheaping out on this one, but I just don’t have faith in the series anymore. It’s a ton of little things that shows they don’t play test and from having done playtest on a previous title it is clear that feedback in largely ignored, especially because it comes late in the game cycle.
I suggest they need a major re-think about how they do everything.
The content creators carry some blame for getting excited about the game before they play it, and they need to be honest about the base game, not the modded versions they play.
This game was overpriced by 50% when I bought it, and that was with the discount for owning a previous version in the presale. Never again will I preorder an EA title (famous last words, I know).
- I've bought and per-ordered many games over the years and this has been by far one of worst and most undeserved pre-orders for me.
This game has been forced out hoping all will be forgotten when the trailers for F1 25 start rolling out and people are 'won over' by the anniversary editions etc etc.
The serious lack of customisation for a sport that absolutely laps up bold helmet designs is appalling, we don't want stupid designs that we can't edit well or at all, give us loads of easy to customise helmets that let us chop and change! you had it bang on for 2/3 games ago yet you screwed it up or cut it all out! why?!
Demotivated devs? these same people have to play the games and be f1 fans too right? do they want this lack of customisation and handling or are they that out of touch?
Baffling, this entire game has been baffling. "Baffling" basically sums up everything about this year's release.
At this point it should be obvious that EA is just milking the franchise until the license gets revoked, which means they're not going to invest more money into testing (why would they when they can just let the players do it for free?), they're going to keep forcing Codies to crunch, and they're not going to listen to player feedback.
To them, this game series is nothing more than a bottom line on their earnings calls.
Maybe it would be better to focus on F1 25
I participated in the full F1 24 beta but the feedback was not implemented enough and they just repeated simple fixesF1 24 is hopeless.
I still haven't bought F1 24 and haven't played it.
The game is so bad now but I hope Codemasters keeps the license. I've been enjoying this series for a long time and I believe they have the ability to make us like it.F1 25 will be the benchmark.
I suggest a few things1. Don't make basic mistakes
- Red Bull's colors in F1 22 and Ferrari's colors in F1 23 were wrong and later updated. F1 23 lost control settings after the update. These are small but noticeable mistakes. I can think of it as a mistake a few times, but people lose patience with continuous mistakes.
2. Change simple things
- Separate Grand Prix mode and Championship (it's inconvenient that Grand Prix mode has only one save)
- Add Grand Prix mode starting grid settings (choosing One-shot Qualifying for Last to First and then choosing Retire this session is stupid)
- In WRC series and Dirt 2.0, you can choose between multiple liveries. Why not in F1 Series? They updated the special liveries and later they can only be seen in Time Trial. I don't know how hard it is to choose different helmets and suits depending on the livery, but it is done in other series3. Focus on Racing (Important Things)
This is F1 game. "F1" and "Game".
- We want good Physics, Graphics, Audio, Tracks, and identity with Real World. Everything else comes after that.
- In F1 2019 or F1 2020, you could see leaves in Canada and Australia. Now they are gone. Before that, the track surface was a bit more detailed. In F1 23, the shadows of distant cars disappear during replay, making them look like they are floating. Why are these things going backwards? If you want enough frames, you should consider changing the game engine or optimizing it for next-gen only.
- Hungary still has outdated Kerbs. (I know tracks are around the world. Nevertheless)
- I enjoyed F1 22 and F1 23. I still enjoy F1 23. The handling physics in F1 22 were good (maybe a minority opinion). I felt some similarities to F1 24 when I replayed F1 22 a while ago. But overall, it is different. I think the Better Traction version of F1 22 is better. Or F1 24, which is more like F1 23.
- The sound is good and bad. The final version of Mercedes in F1 22, Mercedes in F1 24, Red Bull in F1 24 are good. Ferrari in F1 24 is bad. Mercedes in F1 23 is also bad. I know they record new engine sounds every year. But we want them to process it into a more familiar sound. You guys have the potential to make good enough sounds, but the evaluation seems to have a clear direction. If you want the best evaluation, it would be Onboard video on F1 Official YouTube Channel.
- F1 2020 had classic cars. Where did Bahrain Short Track go? What people need more than any other mode is Classic Cars, Drivers and Tracks. Also Senna vs Prost mode. I just play Grand Prix mode in F1 23 once a day now. There is nothing else to enjoy. Despite that, I do not buy F1 24. Just do grand prix mode one time a day. The game mode is not rich enough.
- We do not want F1 World. We do not need Sofa, Cap, T-Shirts, Supercars and Stickers. Even if it exists, it will be when the core is sufficiently satisfied. It is annoying that unnecessary things are continuously added when the core is not satisfied. Pit Coins and additional content are needed, but instead of hats and t-shirts, I wish they replaced them with classic cars or classic drivers.
- Couldn't the team radio be more interactive? Suggesting undercuts during a race, or ask me how the tires feel. The managers of this community respect our opinions and ask for a polite way, but it's clear that they don't listen to us enough. That's why people seem to use more aggressive language instead of mild language. I've enjoyed this series so far, and that's why people are here to comment. I want to enjoy this series even after 2025. But it's not like this now. I really want it to be a better game.

Anyone notice how the activity on here is getting lower each day?
In general, members are not posting. Nobody is talking about the game other than expressing frustration and dissatisfaction.
Bug reports are not acknowledged or followed up for more info to help investigate them? We don't even get a "Thanks, we've passed this on the devs" anymore.....
I posted a pretty game spoiling bug that I am experiencing on numerous occasions where I don't get shown any starting lights. I keep updating this post with new clips every time it happens, and nobody has acknowledged it. No updates or replies requesting any additional info. No reassurances that it's going to be looked at... Just silence!
But you write 2 posts complaining about the extortionate 7,500 pitcoin helmet and you get banned for 3 days...
The communication here really needs to improve. Why are we not getting any answers or info?.... The frustration is starting to appear on YouTube and Review sections and it's really not a good look for EA/Codemasters.
It seems that all that complaining results in consequences..
- Sugandhalaya5 months agoSeasoned Hotshot@SDGMatt yeah, the german forum literally is dead. but the german forum is more or less ignored be EA. The CM only shows up occassionally and most criticism and feedback is ignored there.
Sad to see that the english forum is dying, too because F1 24 sucked in so many ways that people are ignoring it and lost interest in the further development of the game. It's interesting that I logged in to reply and got presented with a Tenth Anniversary Badge by EA.
I just want to add my sadness to this thread. Not the frustration, I'm over that. I'm a pretty casual career player with a budget wheel.
F1 21 was the last time I fully enjoyed an F1 game. Career was cool, and Braking Point was different and had me entertained a bit more.
F1 22 was my first frustration. Since I mostly play career, the thing with AI having super grip on corner exits and flying away on straights killed all my fun.
F1 23 was an all-time low for me. I pre-purchased the game and the wheel didn't work because of Trueforce as I repeatedly mentioned in the forums. When they removed Trueforce it was ok but the damage was done, I was done. Paying more to play early a game I could only truly enjoy months later was painful. I felt betrayed as a customer. Worse, I felt dumb for pre-purchasing a game I did not enjoy the year before. I felt genuinely stupid!
So I didn't buy F1 24. I've been looking at it because of the Player Career changes but I dread the idea the wheel won't work as it apparently has the same Trueforce bugs as F1 23. I want to play an F1 game, I truly do, but I don't trust EA/CM on this. I have to be won back and the feedback from you all isn't giving me any good vibes that they are on the right track. Which, again, it's sad.

I think constructive criticism, sometimes even harsh, is always welcome.
I honestly have to say that the game, after a really complicated start, has improved a lot. F1 23 had better handling but new features have been introduced this year, I hope it will be refined in 2025. The current handling at least in the race (GP mode 100% length) is not that bad.
However, I don't love the new (old) manual management of the ERS but I have to say that it is very useful for compensating the maximum speed of the AI on the straight, so for now (only one race in Monza) I'm quite having fun.The worst thing in the race is that sometimes the AI fights each other even for 4-5 laps in a row, even with 3 drivers constantly exchanging positions and losing a lot of time. Maybe something is not working well at the DRS/sleepstream level…

AI racing each other is a tougher thing to fix, the AI drivers need to think about not fighting to pull away, requires a higher coding to be aware of race distance and pace of the car behind. That’s a one day they’ll get there fix.
