Cool down laps

It think it would be a great idea to add a setting to allow the driver to do a cooldown lap and park the car in parc ferme similar to the ability to do formation laps.

I keep seeing so many requests across various platforms for a cool down lap, and it really baffles me as to what it would add to the game. I guarantee 90% of players would just skip it. You’ve just driven the race, what would you really do on a cool down lap other than drive another lap but a bit slower? You don’t really need to cool the car in the game. You can’t pick up rubber because there isn’t any produced by the game to pick up, and ultimately, the car weight is not a factor for in the game so why would you need to?
People want to do donuts? Why? Are you going to do them after every single race? Wouldn’t it cause damage to your engine and gearbox in career mode?

Id also imagine the only people who really cared about a donut probably uses Full TC, too. In which case it’s actually quite difficult to get the car to do a donut.
Just doesn’t make sense to me! So many more features that they could add that would really improve the race experience and gameplay.

  • @Tshemos What would it really add? At least with formation laps there is a strategic element to tyre temp and grid box position. As well as a sighter lap for changing conditions….
A cool down lap after you’ve just driven a race really brings nothing to the table.
Player controlled cars still on track whilst there are still drivers at the back, still racing is a recipe for disaster, and weight is not a factor in the game.
