All im asking is that people consider that its just not that simple of a matter and you cant make audio please everyone🙂
@Meza994What on earth are you talking about?
Regardless of licenses and approvals, it shouldn’t be worse than before.
At least it must improve every year to get closer to reality. But not.
It's moving away from the real thing, but it also mentions that new real engine sounds are recorded every year.
The current engine sound is not at the official game level.

Point Is you expect things to improve and not to become worse. When you think f1 21-22-23 (apart from Merc engine) all have good engine sounds...

It's like they've just thrown any old rubbish together with no thought. Extremely disappointing!

@IanM282 Hmmm...if by throwing rubbish together you mean flying to Bahrain and recording the cars with the teams, then yes. That's what we did. Perhaps some constructive feedback might give us a bit of a better idea of what you don't like with the engines. - IanM2822 years agoSeasoned Ace
Flying to Bahrain to record the engines is massively appreciated and it's great to hear that such effort has been made. Of that there is no doubt.
The feedback regarding mainly the Ferrari engine sound on this forum however is not great. The Ferrari in real life has that usual characteristic of the turbo whine, which has always been a distinctive trait of the Ferrari engine. And in addition always been implemented to a degree into recent games such as F122 and F123.
The Ferrari engine sound in the game does not sound great as highlighted by many other players.

How to leave us feedback to investigate something:

Thanks for being constructive in your most recent message. We can work with comments like that.I always want to be constructive because I want so much this and every F1 game to be the best and the closest to what we see on TV as possible. I gotta say that in F1 24 you can't enjoy driving a Ferrari powered car with this engine sound. F1 22 was so much better, so please make the sound as close to that game as possible if you can or otherwise just make it less high pitched and introduce more turbo whine especially during downshifts. I hope this could be of some help. Cheers
- Meza9942 years agoSeasoned Ace@homesvslupin Better or worse depends on the listener as i tried to explain it depends on where you listen, what you get for comparison etc, like the Alpine on low revs off-throttle sounds a ton better than last year, to me, Merc does too, the Red Bull/Honda in AC mods sounds atrocious to me but thats just my opinion.. Regarding sound you get as many opinions as on the taste of food
- homesvslupin2 years agoRising Veteran@Meza994 I am very uncomfortable with your opinion. Because your opinion is well thought out and easily blurs the argument on this issue.
Many players, as well as people on this forum, believe that the engine sounds are not close to the real thing.
The fact that there is no correct answer to sound and that individual differences exist is a statement that can easily ignore such opinions.
This is neither Mozart's classical music nor pop music.
This is not pineapple pizza or coffee.
This is not a question of whether it is good or bad to hear, but a question of whether it is close to reality or not.
There is a clear target audience for what we hear on F1 TV Onboard.
People who raise this issue are not stupid enough to express their opinion because they do not know the difference between devices such as mobile and TV, or headphones and speakers.
I work as a broadcast audio engineer, and as I am sensitive to sound, I compare game and real-life audio in various ways, and even if you are not an audio engineer, you can clearly see the difference.
In some series, Mercedes was good, and in other series, Ferrari was good. They have a lot of potential and it will be a shame to hear the sound of the engine going backwards in the next series.
People who agree with this are not just negative people who dislike this game, but because they expect this game to develop further and hope that it will increase my sense of immersion.
Of course, opinions on whether it is good or bad can vary as much as the current handling issue, but treating it as just an individual difference is the same as completely denying the reason for this forum to exist. - Meza9942 years agoSeasoned Ace@homesvslupin You are right that it shouldnt be taken as argument to blur the issue neither was it meant by me this way. As i said in my first posts the Ferrari is clearly off and there is room for improvement for all engines but as someone who also studied audio engineering and who spent years with audio stuff i can equally argue about the comparison which i do a lot too..
The thing is you can compare 2 sources on 5 different sound systems in 5 different rooms and will get 15 different opinions even by listening to it yourself just because each individual setup promotes other differences in the waves and thus it the current Honda sound can be much better than AC mods under conditions A because the right frequencies are promoted there but under conditions B its rather the AC mod. Next thing is that to each different listener other aspects of the engine are the triggering point to gauge whats close and whats not. And then there is probably the biggest problem of the Devs not allowed to use FOM microphones audio, so they have to use a completely different source material compared to the modders on AC etc.
And just to underline this: There is plenty to improve on, especially the downshifting this year is worse, the Ferrari engine is quite off, but there are also some things better and just talking it down as total rubbish isnt gonna help and im trying to give people some more ideas on why it may sound so bad to them, not trying to say it neednt change! 🙂 - 8 months ago
Iv been to a number of races this year and i can tell you without question, the sounds of the cars in this game are not even close to the real thing. this is a huge problem for me and many others, it is enough for me not to play the game until its fixed.
Listen for yourself , what the cars sound like in the real world https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n80zq3bKaFk

It’s not quite the deal breaker for me as it seems to be for others and the Merc engine seems fine to me which is the one I have mostly used but I will say this for the Ferrari- it sounds like it was recorded from inside a helmet
