After watching several videos from YouTubers on F1 24 in Early Access like Idreau, Aarava, Opmer I have the sound of the engines is just catastrophic both in TV POD camera and in exterior view or even in spectator mode. What happened ? Of the 4 engine noises, only the Honda remains almost correct and still... I don't know if the sound resembles a scooter or a lawn mower but I think we will have to look into it and quickly 🫤

Yes, it's just catastrophic. I have been loyal to the game since 2003, every year I have bought the game even if a lot of things are not going well with it and even though the community is not listening. I pre-ordered F1 24 edition champion 2 weeks ago I canceled this morning with a refund for the first time in 21 years on the franchise

I cant really agree to this hate for the sound of the game, many mods for AC sound A LOT worse but there are definitely some things that the good mods for AC do way better than the F1 games but there are also reasons for that..The shifting is definitely by far the weakest point for F1 games, sometimes almost unaudible and just a change in RPM sound, massively better in AC modsThe pitch of the engine itself seems a bit off on some but nothing mega crazy..The Ferrari engine sound in itself is a lot worse and has been for multiple years, the AC mod that i heard recently is miles ahead in that regard.However the reasons for the sounds and liveries and what not to take long or not change properly at all are quite obvious: First it has all to be licensed, aspecially the visual changes need to be approved by each team.. then it need to be approved by FOM, basically any change afaik.. Next that Codemasters are not allowed to use the F1 microphones audio for the game - at least a few years ago they said so - makes a HUGE difference on the core material the audio guys of Codemasters have to work with.. Even FOM * up with the engine sounds this year, i think with a ferrari powered car, dont remember which, it gets a rattling tremolo on the actual audio, thats just the placement inside the car and when Codemasters have to use a completely different placement its hard to get 1:1 the same results..Could they do better in some regards? very likely, would all changes be faster and better if it wasnt for the reasons i stated above? Absolutely..Its not like this game sounds like the "f1 games" from the 80s but some of you make it out to be the worst car sounds ever in a game😂 Just relax a bit, constructive criticism achieves more than just plain out calling someone bad😄

What a shame for games that call themselves “official”. Despite a lot of requests and frustration among the community, no real changes have been made apart from the career mode which remains very in-depth. But the sound of the engines and I'm not talking about just 1 but all 4 is just unrealistic. In replay or flashback mode it's the worst. How the game got to this point I don't understand. Thanks EA... 🫤👎

@DavidLld33 It's definitely horrible. I mean, it's even a big step back from F1 23. I can't believe how they managed to make them even worse

Yes I agree with you on the fact that this post remains quite negative but despite this in no way aims to bring hatred towards the developers or destroy the games 😁 But just something that has been pointed out for years by a lot of people and which tends to have very little evolution and it is obvious that it is not that simple. But if no one really talks about it, the chances of it changing are very slim. This forum is dedicated to this kind of thing if I'm not mistaken 😃 You know for my personal case I started working on the F1 franchise since "Formula one 2003" so for a few short years already. And every year I own the game whether it is good or not. Except this year for the first time in my life. I remain an F1 fan and it is not very difficult to identify the problems or faults that have persisted for a long time. This post is only one point among many, and it may not be part of the immediate priority but I think it deserves to be exposed 😉

I also really hate the engine sounds but I can deal with them. The sounds that I can't deal with are the external sounds, it sounds so bad. It is almost as if it is a video playing in the background, I'm off the engine, yet it still plays an engine noise and it is just so bad.

Regardless of licenses and approvals, it shouldn’t be worse than before.
At least it must improve every year to get closer to reality. But not.
It's moving away from the real thing, but it also mentions that new real engine sounds are recorded every year.
The current engine sound is not at the official game level.

Point Is you expect things to improve and not to become worse. When you think f1 21-22-23 (apart from Merc engine) all have good engine sounds...

@IanM282 Hmmm...if by throwing rubbish together you mean flying to Bahrain and recording the cars with the teams, then yes. That's what we did. Perhaps some constructive feedback might give us a bit of a better idea of what you don't like with the engines.

Flying to Bahrain to record the engines is massively appreciated and it's great to hear that such effort has been made. Of that there is no doubt.
