@EA_Vendcera PC user with Fanatec wheel and pedals. I didn't have much issues pre patch and I don't have many issues now. The car does feel less pointy and more understeer-prone, but I'm not experiencing the amounts of wheel spin some users here are highlighting--not on corner exit, not on straights. I mean, if I don't feather the throttle properly, I would definitely get wheel spin but, in any case, it's easy to control by having smooth inputs. Same with oversteer, though here it's way too easy to catch the car when it snaps. I think this should be looked into, along with kerb riding--it's way too easy, not punishing almost at all. Traction overall feels a little too much in general. I kart in real life on a weekly basis, and although you can't compare a go-kart with an F1 car, I think some of the fundamentals are the same. It's not often that you can floor the throttle pedal immediately the way you're able in the game right now. Smooth inputs are crucial to keep the car stable and carry speed. Maybe this is why I'm not struggling with this new handling pre and post patch. Something I'd note is that, post patch, the front tires tend to want to lock up even with a rear-heavy bias setting.
Having said all that, I think the feeling of realism in the game (using the word realism lightly here as I'm well aware the F1 games are not simulators) is far from being perfect, but I feel it's heading in a good direction. If I could influence the people working on the game, I'd ask them to look into the kerbs and make them punish you if you over do it--you can ride the chicane in Monaco without consequences, for example. The cars are also unrealistically fast. I'd love if they can bring lap times closer to real life and not 4 or 5 seconds faster--which is probably tied to excessive traction and very forgiving kerbs. I also feel that the contact model is rather forgiving. I have damage set to simulation and I've gotten hit relatively hard or touched by other cars and survived unscathed. In F123 and Automobilista 2 (which I also play) I would have been on the wall or my car mangled with a red flag or safety car triggered.
I'm finding the game enjoyable, with better racing in career mode than F123. Hope our collective feedback keeps improving the game for everyone.

What I find quite interesting is how many people here say too much traction and traction is too easy, and yet many people say not enough traction and they spin too easily in 3rd etc... very interesting.

That's why I'm finding it interesting. EA, codemasters don't stand a chance. Everybody's getting a different experience.

The reason they are getting such different reactions is Engine Braking!
Anytime you get off the gas EB is working so in corners that are higher speeds where ya had to tap brakes you just back off the gas and EB takes over and you save time.
In slower corners you have a transition from Off diff to on, just cause your off the brakes EB is still working so when you get on the gas in high torque low gears you have to overcome the EB.....results=burnout!
Since your also turning results=donuts!
This can be tuned out with setup and needs to be tweek imo, the full left needs to be at the halfway point so there is more room for adjustments but will probably affect ERS.
I was able to run a faster time at Monaco IN RACE than qualifying in F1 23...it can be done.

this is the difference between console and pc players, steering wheel or controller, controller or keyboard, toy hardware or prof. racing hardware, arcade fan boy or real simracer...
- 2 years ago@shery_a_coleslaw Valid point but 5 seconds faster? I’m not sure this is exclusive to the tracks not being laser scanned.
- shery_a_coleslaw2 years agoNew Veteran@Che1791 I think it absolutely could account for 5 seconds or more depending on the track because not only is the distance and scale off but in some places like the esses at Mexico the corners are way less sharp than they are IRL which means you can go way faster through there. There are a multitude of inaccuracies that together can make lap times faster or even slower than real life so the metric of comparing lap times in the game to real life is effectively useless.
