f1 2024 PSvr2
Formula 1 2024 MUST come with PSVR2 availability. GT7 is definitely a game changer for lovers of speed and racing simulators. The Formula 1 category is by far one of the most modern sports categories...
Last I’m saying
can you Name a single AAA game that has released in last 6months or coming in the next six months that has PSVR2 support.
That should tell you something.
Sony have paused PSVR production for very disappointing sales. Also they say it will be 2 years before PSVR2 gains any real traction
1 million headset sales for over 70 million PS5 sales.
Such a tiny minority of PSVR2 players. Make it not worth any AAA developer adding support. No profit in them
Current AAA games that support PSVR2? 4? 3 off which are games that have already been out for at least a year before support was added. They had already hit their margins. Not risk adding support.
Only reason GT7 has PSVR2 is to showcase it and sell it. If GT7 wasn’t a Sony game it would not have PSVR2.
Sadly for all those who have bought it fell for Sony marketing.
FYI I’m a Sony fanboy. All my tech is Sony has been for years. But even I havnt bought PSVR2.
Your right…but I can return all your commentaries the side of PC. How many AAA games for PCVR? For Pico - Quest 2-3 - HTC - real mess for compatibility. The problem with F1 is Why they do a PCVR for about for less than a thousand users ? (users with the right head set and the high end PC). Maybe PSVR2 users are around 200k racing gamers !!!
I don't think PSVR2 necessarily needs a mass of first party PSVR2 exclusive games to succeed. I have no regrets buying it. I already had a PS5, it's combination is a better experience visually than on any Quest device (from what I've read) and it's a cheaper combo than getting a PC rig that I don't have. It can also run games that Quest can't untethered.
3rd party developers are still porting games for it. I picked up Walkabout Minigolf the other week and my friends and I were playing it from midnight until about 7am. Cost £9 and provided hours of entertainment. Looking at the VR library on the PS store, there is plenty on there that I'll end up getting.
Porting will be what keeps that library growing. F1 on PSVR2 would be a port. It would be far more difficult for it to appear on PSVR2 if it had not already existed in VR form for the previous two years. We've still not had confirmation of it not eventually coming to PSVR2 and if it doesn't, it wouldn't cost EA/Codemasters anything to explain why. A little bit of transparency is all we PSVR2 users are asking for. Don't think that's unreasonable.
I have discussed this topic for 2 years (F1 2023 / 2024) ...and like you said superhoops82 .... We never have feed back from EA / Codemasters and it's very frustrating for user like me who has purchased all F1 version since 2010. I repeat myself saying that it is not fair to make a PCVR version without making a PSVR2 version. Anyway I have any hope to see PSVR2 for F1 2024, the project is closed!
I looked at Time Trial boards - PS players are 51% across all the boards on average, rest split among XB and PC, so maybe the PSVR2 userbase is > or = to the PC VR base? And probably harder to code for the multiple PC variations than PS single variant.
So maybe dump the PC VR users (as they supposedly would rather tripple screen anyway😉) and get some PS buzz going?
