f1 2024 PSvr2
Formula 1 2024 MUST come with PSVR2 availability. GT7 is definitely a game changer for lovers of speed and racing simulators. The Formula 1 category is by far one of the most modern sports categories...
@ha6hk3w77mwjBut yet they don’t add it. Neither does any new AAA game in last 6 months or next 6 months. You paid for a white elephant my friend. And no other racing game for that matter
Only reason GT7 has it. Is because it’s a Sony game. Which was used to hype up the excitement of psvr. All Marketing. And it failed.
Headset £500 GT7 £70…. It best be good to play one racing game for that price
@MeteoreFor £500 nope
wont even think about vr until many more games support it. So at least 2 years
I guess F1 game sales largely depend on how the sports popularity is doing in general, rather than the quality and the amount of new features compared to the previous year's game.
2022 sold well because it came off the back of one of the most exciting F1 seasons in years. I remember trying to get tickets for Silverstone for 2022 in January that year (I'd been in 2021 too) and found out it had sold out in December. Go forward to 2024 and you can still get tickets for this year's British GP today.
Perhaps Lando Norris can take the fight to Max this season, but popularity for F1 games and F1 in general won't pick up until it becomes competitive at the top again.
And to keep it firmly on topic... PSVR2 is awesome 🙂
Fair love my psvr 2
@ScarDuck14 yeah horror games are a struggle for me in VR. Can play them after some drinks and with friends, but wouldn't go near one at home on my own and sober. Walkabout Mini-Golf is great. Works well for local play, passing the headset around every few holes until everyone has done a full round. Hoping for another Astrobot game though. The PSVR1 game was one of my favourites of any platform, let alone for VR. Was very clever how they used VR in a platform game.
Going back to F1 games though, I finally got round to watching that Lee Mather interview you posted (thanks for posting that). Was quite funny seeing the interviewer say that VR was one of his favourite (or favourite) features from the last game and wanted to know what they had in store for VR in F1 24. Lee looked very awkward when sheepishly saying that nothing was changing for VR. Clearly didn't want to discuss that at all!
@ScarDuck14 Star Wars Squadrons worked brilliantly. I didn't think they'd do a full game in VR and thought they'd just stick with the original tech demo which was unbelievable.
Although I'd highly recommend for anyone to try GT7 VR, in some ways you're possibly wiser not to get PSVR2 just yet, as you'd end up equally frustrated as the rest of us PSVR2 owners who can no longer go back to flat screen and can't play F1 in VR yet.
Do you have a wheel setup? Or just controller? Getting a wheel was a similar situation for me as I didn't want to play racing games without one after that (apart from Mario Kart type games).
When I played F1 games on flat screen, I found myself relying on the corner breaking guides too much as I didn't have the time to learn each circuit well enough without them. With VR though, I can pretty much learn a circuit within about 5 to 10 laps to get a decent enough laptop time. Mainly because you can pick out so many details a lot easier when the circuit is all around you.
I may give F123 a try as it was free on PS Plus. Luckily the team line ups are the same as this year and I've never driven Miami or Vegas, so that'll be something new.
Good news people… Time to rejoice. You can now play on PSVR2 woo hooo
Oh you’ll need to get the game on steam. But as you were all ok with paying for it to be added in a DLC this shouldn’t be a problem

@ScarDuck14 woohoo!! - yeah! - oh wait now I need a 2K+ gaming pc doh!
Just as you didn’t want to come home from your driving job to sit at a wheel, as a long time IT person coming home to wrangle a Windows PC felt exactly the same - more work not play😜
Not a big deal !! The problem isn’t the headset but the hardware plateform. I don’t have a PC gamer type. Probably quest 3 is similar of PSVR2!!!
How much are VR capable PCs these days?
@Neil_RS60 - you answered my question. Thanks!
@ScarDuck14 can’t disagree. Sony definitely has dropped the ball on the larger ecosystem
@SteveJackson not just the game per se but also keeping windows going - drivers updates patches etc
@ScarDuck14 Sony not having any sort of VR mode in the next Astrobot game is the biggest kicker for me. They could have gone with a hybrid approach to cover both flat and VR fan bases. The original game was a key PSVR1 seller and one of the best games ever across any platform. Sony deserve a massive slap for this.
Shame EA can't seem to get F1 working properly on PC, or was the quality just so variable based on setup, that some people can actually get a solid experience out of it?
If F1 has PSVR2 compatibility i would instantly go to a Shop and buy a PSVR2.
Instantly..
You can play it on PSVR2. Just need headset/adapter/PC and game on Steam:
Yes … and a PC at 2.5 k$
@MeteoreIt’s the only way. Sony have all but came out and said it’s failed on PS5 as 95% ish off PS5 owners have not felt it’s not for them. By making it work on PC has effectively killed any chance of any big AAA games coming to PSVR2 + PS5. No need for developers to spend time and money specifically supporting PS5..
A long time ago we had video tapes that play movies etc. there were two formats Beta max and VHS. Beta Max was by far the superior. However it was slightly more complex than VHS. And not much more in price. However movies on VHS were released quicker and more readily available. Beta Max despite it being better. Couldn’t sell the numbers and died. Before disks VHS rained supreme
Moral of story just because something is better than everything else. If it doesn’t come with content and cheap. Vast majority off people are not gamers and with cars if they don’t get it
Doesn’t look good
