Agreed.  It's great that the customer base is going to get a boost and don't see it as a bad thing at all.  Only stores in the UK and US are doing these limited time discounts currently so not sure how it came about for these countries specifically.  I see Amazon have already sold out at that price point in the UK which is good going.  It's a good way for Sony to guage an appropriate price and see if there is genuine interest in VR and if it was just the high cost was what was holding it back in terms of sales.

Selling at cost or thereabouts will be beneficial in the long run as an increase in VR game sales will make up for it.  Better than having unsold headsets that aren't bringing in extra revenue.

I guess we'll get a better idea of PSVR2's future over the next 12 months or so, but I'm not panicking just yet, especially while games are being made/ported for it, regardless of who the developer is.
