I took part in the F1 24 beta and had access to the sub forum for it for giving feedback, and I was appalled at some of the kids in there who clearly didn’t understand that they were playtesting and not being given a free demo.
I would log on and read things like “I played this game for 10 minutes now and it’s terrible, I won’t be buying it”
Like 10 minutes is all you need to test a game thoroughly and were they expecting the finished article? It’s a work in progress and you’re playtesting to help iron out problems! 😂
Needless to say, that’s why I don’t think it should be a random selection, and I don’t think it should purely be the ‘influencers and esports drivers from You-Tube’ either. They should be a part of it for sure since they play the game thoroughly and in depth and they understand the mechanics of the game more than a kid who just loads up some 5 lappers for a demolition derby. But some of those guys also have their own agendas or will bootlick to ensure they stay on EA/CM’s good side and get their freebies at launch! You’re not going to get an unbiased view!
A mix of players with experience of the series and good knowledge of F1 needs to be chosen!
People’s experience with the series and knowledge of F1 should be considered. Writing an application may be time consuming, but you’ll get much more useful feedback that will improve the game at launch, and this leads to better reviews, sales, publicity, player satisfaction and ultimately…. MORE MONEY!
