I've played/pre-ordered all the Codemasters/ EA games from 2010 to present and it still baffles me a bit as why we don't have a helmet editor, even if it was just something simple where we can create are own designs.
The thing that's annoyed me most about this year's game is not long after release and before we got the handling model we have now the game got reduced in the sale, bit of a kick in the teeth to everyone who pre-ordered or bought the game on release, we would of been better waiting buying it cheaper in the sale and avoiding all the handling updates.
The new F2 cars are fun to drive I'm having a blast with them, even in cockpit cam.
Scenario mode could do with looking at. I don't understand how a player using lower ai then everyone else, full assists and completing the event sometimes between 20 and 30secs slower than other players using 110ai score more points. I mean you just have to look at the results from the past 3 or 4 scenario events to see what I'm talking about. Then that carries over into challenge career some weird scoring in that too which makes you think why do I bother playing it in the first place. You don't get a trophy this game either in email rewards for where you finish in the event.
Pro challenge this year you don't get the ghost car of the driver your trying to beat, you get bronze silver and gold times, no actual ghost car of Max at Monza, you never see him like you did in the last game.
I understand the podium pass has been nerfed to make it easier for people to complete, I completed the full podium pass in one sitting the other night, what do I do now? Yeah you can buy extra tiers with pitcoin (more money) but it's a bit too easy to complete now. Going to spend the next 50 days earning xp for nothing really.
I'm sure I could list some other things but I'm certain other posts will say what I would of said. What I've listed here is things than just come straight to mind for this post.
- @GrumpsMcDumps This is some of the best feedback I’ve read on this.
Unfortunately, particularly for points 1-3, it all comes back to one thing - cash is king. EA aren’t interested in anything that might reduce their revenue, even despite the shocking sales figures being reported for F1 24 There is so many things wrong with this game, and pretty much every single one of them have already been called out by the community in other threads. I'm not gonna get into bugs, that has its own area to be discussed at. In one of the threads I talked about how important features of past games were removed or tuned down in recent games, specially features that can make a difference during the race, and if it influences something that is the main part of the game, than it never should be removed.
I'll give here some ideas, not for this game of course, but that should be considered for future games, because I believe that would help the dynamic of the gameplay.
1. Different race lengths. A 75% race distance would be perfect for people that are not bothered by long races, but don't actually want to drive a full race. In 50% races, you can squeeze the one stop, and strategies feel always the same. I believe a 75% race would make a gambling on 2 stopper more viable, as you would have a little more time to actually see the difference on the tires, compared to the one stoppers.
2. Custom personalization of Helmet/Car designs. This has been asked for so long. How hard would actually be to have a customization of helmets or car liveries in the game?
3. Official TV graphics. If the game is licensed by F1, how can the game not have the graphics of the product that is licensing them? That would be like EA FC having the licenses of the leagues not having the scoreboard used by the leagues on the top left of the screen. Or having the license of teams, and having random kits or random stadiums assigned to them. If my race engineer is useless giving me data during the race, at least I could watch the gaps to the full grid. That would help during strategies. Something that was scraped that was in previous games was having the possibility to compare my sector times to P1 or to P10 or P15 if I was in the drop zone. That would give me a better idea of what lap time I'm doing during qualifying.
4. This is a tough one, but if it was possible to have licenses on other tracks outside the ones in the main calendar of the season, it would be amazing. Same for classic cars.
5. Career mode. The additions to career were good, but they get boring and useless after some time. Re adding driver testing to enter an F1 team would be better, and the meetings actually being more impactful would have better impact. Championship edition had an interesting feature that during the season you would have some "test" with your teammate to see if you were capable of getting the number one drive. The R&D should be expanded or made more difficult because we still can upgrade the car to fast.
6. AI. Main thing I ask, is for the AI to actually get temperatures, like the player, in their tires. That's why interchangeable conditions are impossible. They do not get affected by tire temps, which affects tire wear and traction, and that is not fair to the player. Different strategies around the grid would be needed as well, I barely see big differences in strategy, and responding to pit stops would be nice too. More realistic mistakes, you can clearly see that when they spin it is forced, they apply the accelerator fully to spin the car. Rarely see actual incidents, they only get contact with front wing, they never lock up and get to the back of other cars in front, never spin into a wall. Being smarter overall would be better. Other things is the AI running on rails. They never make a corner cutting (that could be a good mistake), and penalties to AI usually happens only if they smash others cars during a pile up. They could sometimes make a jump start and have to serve a drive-through.
7. Safety cars and red flags. Tom pointed this out in his video, in 75 hours of gameplay I barely saw one safety car, most of the time either nothing happens or a red flag comes out, and only in situations like he said in the video when two yellows are being shown at the same time. Race distances actually influences the outcomes of this situations, that why 75% would be good.
8. F1 World. Just scrap it. I don't believe more than 10% of the community actually loses time editing their house with new sofas or lamps.
9. Some physics. Actually make the tires grain, get flat spots, make the asphalt actually affect the tires. Make wind an important factor. Make dirty air actually useful and affect cars running behind, mainly the tire temps and the wear. Make rain more dynamic like in F1 13, where instead of the track gets immediately wet, it gets increasingly wet and some corners would be dry others damp. Make a dry line. During a wet to dry race the track does not immediately gets dry, we saw how Turkey 2020 was. We saw Silverstone this year.
I really could go on with a lot other things but I'm just gonna stop here. My opinion would be for the devs too look at past games, and see what features where there that could be a factor for this game and that have been removed. Maybe be like Paradox and work with modders, they have been a salvation to this game in some extent.
I know this thread would probably be for feedback in this game, but forget it. Put all the tokens in F1 25, as that will be the all or nothing game for this franchise.
all in all, this game is too arcady. the weather system is just shocking, year after year the same thing, like, (blaablaa 15min.. , blablaa 10min... blablaa 5min...). make the weather more dynamic and realistic - and the whole game, also. f1 25 needs a big big big step!!!
also, bring back split times to f1 25 game, please. and remove that f1 world thing if possible. 🙂
I only play solo career and my team, I have no interest in the rest. F1 Fan Zone seems frivolous. If I wanted to take part in those sort of things there is F1 voice and other sites for that sort of thing.
The game overall is 70% there but what is missing matters to me which would be OK if the game had been half the price. I want to love the game but I am having trouble liking it. So I feel somewhat cheated. From the way podium pass is handled with the ridiculous stickers and parts for the F1 World mode I never want to play to the inability to set me favourite drivers and cars into the menu scenes instead of looking at a driver or two I dislike the game feels like it never follows though on any of its promise.
The game also is completely dissengaged from the history of F1 other than the icons. If the icons included some test drivers or other academy drivers it might be worth it to me, butI don’t want to be some old guy driving in modern F1. If I am going to be them it would be in a classic car scenario.
1. Customization
Woefully inadequate. This is 25% of my frustration since you took a step backwards. The availability of helmets to choose from for your driver is poor to say the least and the number of colour zones on most of them is also poor and the matte vs gloss prechoices are also poor.
Liveries are also lacking and when they do arrive look completely unsuited to represent a real F1 team. With so many historic liveries to draw inspiration from why do we get clock work patterns and camouflage? Race numbers should be colour editiable with each being different based on car location so they don’t disappear.
Race suits are now shiny and nothing like what the teams wear. The sponsorships disappear if the part of the car is the wrong colour to the suit.Race team wear could also be customizeable, maybe using your casual clothing lime for that. Same with pitcrew helmets and firesuits
Weather in career and my team should also be customizeable or at least turn it off if and when a patch ruins the AI wet/dry balance.
Track order should be changeable within seasonal reason with classic F1 tracks.
Pit box order needs to change with finish from the previous year.
Spring races should be something you can turn off, and also pick the 6 races at the start of the season after season 1.
AI should be changeable on session restart at a minimu, mid session would be better.
Menus should also be theme selected, a Ferrari fan sees Ferrari cars and divers, etc.
2. Career Mode
Specialists are OK but not great, Secret meetings are great. The ability to walk into any team is not immersive, should be an option to allow player to get a seat based on merit or to pick it. Especially coming out of F2.
Rivalries are good but without media asking questions they go stale. By the way, animated characters with teethy grins look scary, not happy, rethink the smiles.
Pit box order changes season to season.
Careers should go 20: and be in context of some of the records like wins, win %, poles, pole%, titles, etc. Just not points which is a meaningless stat.
Get rid of the house cut scene or let me skip it. If it stays then have the trophy room represent my trophies and the race suits represent my career.
3. My Team
You dropped the ball here with total lack of customization as above but the mode had more potential than was ever realized.
Split the owner from the driver. Have a character for both (or same if chosen by the player). Sign two drivers and allow for a hot seat mode, or for a player to choose 1 of the two to be that weekend.
As drivers come out of F2 to take seats in F1 fantasy drivers could be generated to fill the F2 void allowing for more diverse drivers to enter the sport.
Budget cap would be nice, with having the key personel plus factory facilities in place to give bonuses around speed of development, resource points etc. Team need reputation to hire the best as well as money.
The mirrors need to be brought in to be useful in cockpit mode.
4. AI
Both great and awful. There is little variation in the way they drive, the strategies they use or pit strategy. The AI is inconsistent track to track and Qualy to race. Sit down and drive all the races with full assists except steering and you’ll see how some tracks they are faster than others for no reason. Maybe it is linked to fuel loads at those tracks where the player can’t lower the laps worth of fuel low enough.
The grip the AI in full wet conditions is unreal at times, hence the request to be ab,e to turn of weather or weatherneffects.
The lack of pit strategy advice coming from my race engineer as in previous games means I am doing it on the fly, surely he knows if I should switch to mediums or hards after my inters come off. Suely he can suggest the under cut from time to time if he sees a gap jn the traffic?
5. Braking Point
I don’t care for it, I know some do. If it detracts from fixing the game and improving the experience then get rid of it.
6.
Practice programs
This is the chance formus to get the AI right through Race Sim and Qualy Sim. We get the one but the other is random. Why?
Finally why do I have the avatars of people I don’t know ever showing up anywhere in my game. I guess that is how you sell the casual clothing merch but I just find them horribly annoying.
2025 is an anniversary year, time to celebrate the past and present. The game needs to be worthy of the moment The kore control the solo player has over how they play and what they wear the better the game will be.
I think the game is made worse as it is. I can drive very well with a controller, currently between AI 85 and 90. What bothers me are the engine noises, which are too loud for me and are not good for the ears in the long run. Then there are errors such as you can no longer get new rain tires, the AI keeps driving into the pits and only ever gets used tires, I then had to get inters, but the AI was too stupid for that. I then won with a 2 lap lead. Overall I don't think the game is bad, there are still some improvements for controller drivers and time trials with rain would be good. I would like time trials where you can see the tire wear so you can build good setups, there isn't that in the normal time trial. But please change the engine sound, duller is more pleasant.
Why is it September 20th and I still don't have an option to use the #1 after I win a championship with Red Bull in driver career mode? Doubt its there for other teams seeing as you guys lazily remove stuff for no reason.

I decided to reinstall this game for the express purpose of contributing to this thread. I haven't played it since July when the update broke the controller vibration makeing an already unpleasant game even worse.
I reinstalled it, I launch the game, I get to the splash screen and the game closes itself. A message pops up, telling me that the EA anticheat on this fresh install is not the latest version. And I can't play this game.
There's a website given in the box to find the latest version. But the address given just goes to a 404 page not found.
And I think that sums up F124 better then any words can.
My son’s observation is this:
For the casual player If you take full assists and go track to track, assuming you are on the right tyre at the time, you should be able to set the same time as the best driver in the same car. Everyone wants to be Senna or Schumacher in ability. The difference should be down to the car, tyre, strategy engine wear, racing line etc.
Then people can move off assists and raise the AI, but the base must be consistent Qualy to Race, wet to dry, track to track.
He also prefers the pitstop to be automatic, or an option to turn the manual turn in off without going to TV cut scenes.
People here have written great detailed feedback regarding the product that they paid good hard earned money for. A point I would like to add is regarding bug reporting. There's a forum dedicated for bug reporting, but it seems like nobody reads those. I (and several other people) have bug reports that are several months old with absolutely zero acknowledgements. And yet, the only threads that seem to be receiving replies/acknowledgements recently are the ones where people are expressing their disappointment in this game, only for those threads to be locked.
And only those bug reports that have multiple replies have an EA community manager acknowledge them. If tracking these forums for bug reports are difficult, then maybe it is time to move to a more standardised bug reporting/ticketing system, like the rest of the software industry follows. People who just want their product to function as defined (as any well engineered product should) spend time and effort gathering data, formatting it to suit the template, maybe record screenshots/clips showing this bug to submit a report. And what comes out of this time spent? Absolutely nothing.
It seems like the perception of the public opinion of this forum is way more important than actual bug reports. Call me crazy, but I think if those reports are looked into and solved, the public opinion of this game will improve.
