Here’s a link to the video that Limitless made as i referred to in the post above:
The assist used is a very important point, and also one I was thinking about in a different context.
The vast majority of people who say they want the car to be realistic would also put a real F1 car in the wall coming out of the garage. They are not as easy to drive as people think. So how real is too real?
I am very open about playing full traction and braking, auto gears, pit limiter and even start assist and use expert mode. I steer for myself, and use ERS and DRS for myself too. I also take the default setup. Based on my settings, if I drive the right line and use my ERS correctly and choose the right tyres I should be as good as Verstappen’s AI i. the same car. So the game should vary for me based on the car, engine wear, and the AI pace range. I am a glorified AI car. So handling is fine.
The crazy variation from track to track I see in qualifying pace astounds me. The average for me is 75 but if I wanted to race at the right setting it swings from 63 to 84 in qualy and the race pace does not always match the qualy AI setting. This in my mind should not happen. I should be able to set one AI for the season because I am not going to improve. The AI also varies wet to dry, or maybe the TC does.
The real point though is the players are all different which is EA’s problem. Who do they cater to?
The eSports crowd? The players who spend hours honing the car set up? The player who wants to jump in a cockpit and just race with minimal effort? The modes were to help with that, but only expert gives you all the options and lets you set the AI.
AI sliders were to help, but the AI is not consistent track to track, and between wet, transition, and dry.
For some, even full TC is not good enough for rain conditions but other players complain the wet is not realistic enough.
The solution is only in allowing players offline to pick their settings for the features. On line, which I don’t play is a different world which other players can speak to.
If the game becomes un accessible to casual or first time players, it will eventually die. It is the balance that is so hard to achieve, give the biggest fans what they want and you lose a big part of the market. Don’t give them what they want and they walk away bad mouthing the product.
Quick feedback:
- driving is quite ok, still have pleasure to drive the car even though it was bit better in 2023
- AI DRS are clearly an issue and make races not enjoyable. 2023 was much better here
- car performance not correctly updated. That is really annoying to still have Aston Martin way too fast 4 months after the game was released.
- driver ratings : please let us the possibility to change it ourselves at least in Grand Prix mode.
- driver career is good, but will be much better if there can be an option after August/September that car performance development follow real life, like McLaren being faster after Miami.Created an account just to post this;
- Remove F1 World. Remove all the gimmicks. We just want a good playing game. Please don't bring Breaking Point back either, unless the game is perfect.
- Driver Career improvements are a step forward but go further. If Driver Transfers can happen, let us force them. If the calendar can be customised, let us do it completely. Doing the same season over and over again is boring. Same with driver ratings, let me change them. Let me shove Max into the Racing Bull for a season alongside Norris and see what happens. Otherwise, I'm driving effectively the same season each career and after a while, it's boring. Oh and let me change the pecking order, especially when the performance updates are so out of date. Let me make Haas sixth-quickest rather than waiting four months for an update - why can't I change it, I paid for the game.
- Tracks. If you have them scanned, don't take the bloody things out. Paul Ricard, Vietnam, Hockenheim, leave them in the game. Obviously DLC packs for other tracks would be great but I appreciate this is a lot of work so let's just focus on not removing ones you've already got.
- Allow us to use F2 Drivers in current year. Ie, this year I'd love to do an Antonelli-Mercedes career but I can't.
- Please give the AI some sort of tyre temperature issues, stop them driving perfectly in the wet. Have them struggle with traction, have them make an error. The wet times are also ridiculously quick, they need to be 5s slower at least. DRS trains are also terrible but you know that. Make the AI quicker in the corners and slower on the straights.
- Customisation has got worse - how is this possible? Concentrate on liveries, helmets, gloves, race suits etc. Sunglasses, headphones and other rubbish outside the car is pointless.
- R&D in both Driver Career and My Team need another tweak. Upgrades are too constant and too quick.
- It would be nice to drive into the pits and maybe some changes to the practice programmes but not at the expense of getting the game right. Same with pre-season testing.
- I'd like to see something with regards to a dynamic difficulty level. Maybe a one-shot qualy prior to the race weekend, helping us to set the difficulty.
- Handling as a controller user isn't good. It's a shame but I have faith this will be fixed in the next game.
- Sliders. There are a number of ways for this to be used. AI aggression, tyre wear, wet weather pace, safety car probability, qualifying pace, race pace.

I heavily played and league raced in 22 23 and 24. Heres my thoughts for upcoming F1 games.
Keep releasing them on old gen hardware like PS4. newer gen like PS5 are still very expensive.
However, its likely time for an updated 3d engine for the game.
Give us all the tracks from 24 plus some old tracks. give us back france, russia, turkey, vietnam, hockenheim
no more F1 world. no more compendium. no more fan zone. these things seem a giant waste.
i would replace f2 with classic f1 cars. people are more interested in old F1 cars than current F2 cars in my opinion.
no more super late safety cars. made it so its not possible for there to be a safety car with less than 5 laps left.
chill on the overheating tires. tires overheat too easily.
make fuel usage more similar on all the tracks. its super annoying trying to guess the right fuel level to start on on each track.
make running out of fuel on hard fuel setting less brutal. make the car go faster when out of fuel on hard setting.
no more 10 second pen for speeding in pits. how about try 8 instead. i realize 5 might not be enough but 10 is brutal. try 8.
maybe try corning cutting pens to be 2 seconds instead of 3. the average corner cut only gains someone time less than a second on average i think.
keep adding new songs to the game in updates not every update but would be nice to have nice music sprinkled in the game over time.
have the option to turn off DRS in dry races. speaking of DRS its too strong in 24. make it bit less strong.
lower the price of F1 games in future this is contributing to people deciding not buy the new game when its over $60. Make it $50 at launch. 60 or 70 is too much.
make medium tc stronger more like full tc than no tc. currently medium tc feels far too easy to spin the car when accelerating a little too early.
pitcoin is fine but make the items much cheaper to buy with pitcoin.
give us more mature options for victory celebrations and voices
give more options for the engineer to tell you things in the pits instead of saying the same thing over and over.
keep the ers mode changing for races its great. also re introduce the ability to adjust fuel between lean and rich during races like in f1 2020.
more options for ers and fuel mid race leads to better racing. as well as making DRS less strong will lead to better closer racing
make it less easy to spin out on a kerb. so many kerbs are like ice. make them less brutal
make it a little less easy to lose a tire from contact leading to dnf. feels like often a tire comes off too easily like its made out of hot butter and just melts off the car
rear wing damage more often than not is not from your own fault so make it even if its red rear wing damage the car is strill driveable. the car is undriveable with rear wing damage
make the safety car go in no matter what if entire field is caught behind it. far too many times the SC goes another lap even though all field is caught up.
this one is important do away with the AI being super fast in straights and garbage slow in corners. this has a trickle down effect to league races where some guys think its ok to constantly divebomb humans because thats how they race against the AI who are too slow in the corners. make the AI driving more realistic make them slower in the straights and faster in the turns or least more similar to how us humans drive.
release new f1 games earlier try to get closer and closer to releasing at start of F1 season. only makes sense.
bring back in game league racing how it was in F1 22 but make it better. currently they are asking me to scan QR code to try a league i dont even have the ability to scan a qr code.
the in game league racing from 22 could be improved to where people actually use it. for instance you could make it where people league race for pitcoins as prizes.
re introduce calling the games by the full year like F1 2025
- @kevincal40 I get why you ask for most of those things but many are either just not realistic (not what real F1 is like) or not feasible like releasing the game earlier.. Imagine they would release F1 26 mid april when the real season was just 4-5 races old.. The whole behaviour of the cars would be pure guess work, the car performances all over the place or the AI poorly trained to the cars because they had no time to train them properly..
Too little traction or kerbs being too hard sounds like maybe you should use full TC if thats more comfortable for you? Kerbs can be deadly IRL too, like we saw when Alonso nearly had a heartattack in FP in Singapore.
DRS is very OP IRL, difference is dirty air doesnt do * ingame, IRL it makes your tyres overheat, engine overheat and your aero far worse, ingame barely a tiny bit worse aero so rather make it more realistic than not.
Overheating tyres are way too lenient in the game, IRL the grip drop off is far worse than the current game and even if you see red temperature numbers you dont have to worry, the griploss isnt insane and can be counteracted with brake bias changes or differential changes. And if its still too much you can put it to surface temperatures only. With all set to the most realistic experience it should also reflect what its like IRL and not be super friendly/easy, thats what assists and such are there for! 🙂
Also instead of making damage on wings generally less impactful rather make it an option or you can use the option so you get less damage to begin with 🙂
Fuel changes midrace are sadly forbidden for F1 25 still, just because its like that IRL, what they could do is emulate the whole power unit modes and just rebrand the fuel modes into power unit modes, cut the increased/decreased fuel usage and just make it give more power for higher wear or less power for lower wear on the whole power unit.
Lower prices are sadly unrealistic with how capitalism works but it would definitely encourage those who didnt buy 24 or 23 to buy 25
No DRS option is an interesting thought, would make overtaking with proper dirty air incredibly hard but could be fun for online players!
Late safety cars are realistic, can even end races, rather make it an option to not get them 🙂
More tracks is the dream, sadly unrealistic with licenses and the amount of work that goes into creating a track or completely overhauling it (which would be necessary for most that havent been in recent games)
Overall you got nice ideas but most would better be kept as options/assists as many people want the game to be more realistic and with more options they could satisfy both the more casual fun players as well as the more realism players - ScarDuck145 months agoLegend@Cooper4000 He could post the biggest revelation ever. He won’t be entertained ever by EA/Codies. Past History etc. I was only saved from being cancelled by 4 awesome staff that came to my defence. That behind counter off a new bakery down my road. Was one off the most attractive women I’ve ever seen. Working as a baker.
Was a harmless quip a few weeks later mocking Google Gemini Ai and Ai machine learning update to Duelsense controllers that was my doom: if first they don’t succeed try, try again My problem with this game is rinse and repeat. By that I mean It's 23 with tweaks and alot of the same issues.
I didn't buy the Champions Edition this year and I'm GLAD. The Podium Pass alone made me glad for this decision as in the first 2 seasons I've only managed level 36 at most this playing 3 to 5 races a night.
Basic F1 World the tech numbers for series is MESSED up and I've quit playing it cause I can't compete against 425+ level cars with just a 260 car and NO WAY to improve my car....this IS stupid. A month of playing and ya dont get the parts ya need....the game wont give me what I need to modify parts.
These 2 things ALONE are enough for me to say at this moment that I WILL NOT be buying the next game UNLESS there is a BIG TURN-AROUND.
As a fan of the game I'm tired of the problems!
- @ScarDuck14 I have no idea what the heck you”re even talking about. And stay on topic= F1 24 thoughts and feedback
- @kevincal40 Totally disagreeing about last gen. They have to ditch last gen with F1 25. That’s the only way to truly update the racing experience
