I want to ask for compensation, but I'm told there's no complaints department
I've been chatting with EA's live chat team over the past couple of days to share my ongoing frustrations with F1 24, hoping to be put through to a complaints department so that I can discuss potentially receiving a refund or compensation for this game. I've been told that there is no way to make a complaint, which is frankly ridiculous, and surely goes against some regulations? I was told to consider posting on this forum, although I don't understand how that will help me get through to a complaints department that doesn't exist?
I purchased F1 24 at launch, when it had all sorts of widely reported gameplay bugs and issues that made the entire game unenjoyable and sometimes unplayable. We were told that these things were being worked on and therefore to wait – 16 or so patches later, and I've come back to playing it again. The gameplay has indeed been significantly improved, but I wish I had never bought the game at full price at launch when I could have waited until it was in a playable state. (It shouldn't be up to me to know this – the game should be released in playable state to begin with).
Now, I'm having all sorts of issues with Trophies. Looking at the forums, I see that lots of other players have the same issues, and have since launch, with seemingly no intent from the developers to fix them.
The trophies relating to getting stickers in the compendium? Not popping, despite having met the requirements.
The trophy that requires you to be in the correct winning Fanzone? Completely luck-based, won't be achievable once support stops, will likely deny players reaching 100%.
The trophy that requires you to have a 'Unique Item'. Locked behind a £20 DLC paywall! I'm pretty sure this goes against PlayStation's policies, and is downright disgusting.
I was patient. I didn't return the game at launch because EA promised the game would be fixed. But it's been problem after problem after problem, and now with so many trophies being either broken or impossible to achieve, there's yet another part of the product that's inaccessible. If I pay full price for a game, I expect to enjoy the full experience, and that's impossible here.
I believe I – and others – should be entitled to a refund, or at least some compensation for these issues. I don't see what posting here is going to do, but when a company makes it impossible to complain, what do you do?
