So we've gone from the handling model feeling bad for wheel users and great for gamepad users, to the handling model just feeling bad for everyone.
Why anyone decided to not just use the handling model from F1 23 is still absolutely beyond me.

I have said this on previous posts over the last few days. Why are they changing the handling model so much when it is within the same regulations? Small tiny tweaks was all that was needed. For example keep it the same as F123, but make the cars half a second faster or so, to be in line with this season.
What I find so incredibly annoying is they put so much effort into changing the handling model for the worst and completely neglected the rest of the game.
This is by far the absolute worst handling model I have ever experienced in any racing game. Garbage!- contitego2 years agoRising Traveler

This is by far the absolute worst handling model I have ever experienced in any racing game. Garbage! Each patch has had a change in handling. I have to relearn the game's handling and modify my setups to work again, only to have the handling change by the time I am somewhat competent using the new handling. 4 updates, and 4 different changes to the handling. EA needs to stick to one handling model whatever that is, it certainly isn't this one.

Sry, now the fanatec steering wheel finally works quite well. You should probably separate pad and wheel. I've deactivated crossplay, but pad drivers on console with aids are still in the list. Why is that?
Just add a sim mode where you can drive through the pits by hand and, importantly, practice a start with double clutch. As it is now, it's completely for the garden. Take a look at ACC, there are simulation conditions, even the now rather poor WRC is far better than F1 24.

Do you have the correct force feedback from the wheel? I couldn't get FFB working on my Logitech G pro on PS5 on any of the previous builds. I might try in 1.7. Insanely frustrating.

I think some of you need to take a look at your controller settings after this patch. I too felt the handling was terrible once I first played 1.7. Then I went in and adjusted some of my settings again and it actually feels good again. The steering in 1.7 feels less sensitive, so I adjusted that and it opened everything up for me again. Same with linearity. Few minor adjustments there and it solved alot of the poor feel. Don't just sit there sticking to default controller settings or sticking to what you had. The handling changed, so its natural to me that to get it to feel right to you that you should alter your controller settings again too. It worked for me.
The weight/balance still feels a bit off, but that could be setup related too. Keep that in mind as well. But I actually like the feeling of TC in medium. First few laps it feels a bit over powered and like no slip is possible, but once the tires start to wear it's possible again. However when i completely disable traction control and after I adjusted my controller settings again to adapt to the new update the game actually feels good to me with no TC and actually feels playable with a controller.
So before complaining like this so they make more mass changes to the system... if you haven't already go in and tinker with your controller settings in game. It just may make you appreciate it a little bit.
