1000% agree with this!!!
Podium Pass in the last 2 games has been a waste of time and I’ve lost interest in it because all you do is earn pointless ‘F1 World’ things that nobody cares about!!!
Every time I load up the game it tells me I’ve earned 900 insights, cash that I don’t know what to do with and Fan Zone Points that earn me nothing! What the h does ‘insight’ do and why should I care?
The OP is correct, look at every single season of podium pass on this game and the template is identical. One awful helmet, suit and livery at the start locked behind the VIP paywall, but you get the gloves for the set for free, then you grind 50 levels of XP to reach another set at the end, again locked behind the VIP paywall. This is not value! The basic tier gives you nothing but ‘insight’ and if you don’t like the helmet designs, there is no incentive to pay 9,000 pitcoin, which is about £7 in real money!
F1 23 took this route with Podium Pass, but they also opened the ‘Store’ and included a big selection of decent helmet and livery designs, and boy did I spend pit coin!! This was great!! Give players the option on Day 1 to buy their helmet design! I’ve used the same design and colours for several years in my ‘league racing career’, and I was greatly disappointed to see it had been taken away for F1 24….. 10 months into the game’s cycle and it still hasn’t been added back. Infact, very little has been added. A slow drip feed or awful, uninspiring, talent and thoughtless MS Paint created designs that look like a local primary school was tasked with creating….
If the EA strategy is to make more money, and yeah, people don’t like that, but it’s a business at the end of the day, accept it, then surely the best method of generating more income through pit coin is to actually give the players what they’re asking for!!
Give us a reason to care about Podium Pass!
Fill it with content we actually want and ditch the F1 world trash! Take 2 minutes to read these forums and you’d see that players want Helmets and Liveries!! There should be tons of designs and options and we should have these thrown at us in overwhelming quantities!! Found one you like and bought it? Well, here’s another 10 to entice you to spend!
Nobody is spending pitcoin to earn XP or buy F1 World items! I can bet my house on that!
We got 18,000 pitcoin for pre-ordering, and rightly so after paying £89.99 for the game, but there has been NOTHING to spend it on and I’d bet that most players still have a big chunk of it left. So little reason to buy more!
And simply adding 1 new helmet in an update at 7,500 pitcoin is not the solution. You’d sell more helmets at 1,000 pitcoin because it’s reasonably priced and doesn’t put people off emptying thag pit coin wallet! There’s always the hope that if you hold on to your coin, a better design might eventually show up!
