Question about F1 2024

Will the F1 2024 release restore multiplayer leagues with AI drivers?

    Hey there,

    We've only had an "announcement trailer". A teaser. The game reveal will only happen in April. But even then, that sort of functionality will most likely only be confirmed by the community themselves or by reviewers once the review embargo ends.

    And unless they tease a "revamped multiplayer" or something along those lines come April, I would not expect any significant change unfortunately.

    I'll add that my guess would be this is unlikely to have made it to the top of the 'to do' list but it's a case of wait and see as @mariohomoh said.

    I'm sure you are correct.  It's too bad we are having to wait for the community to discover what F1 2024 will and won't do.  Many others and myself will forgo  purchase until the early adopters confirm what is in the game.  Without multiplayer leagues with ai, I will not purchase the game no matter how many liveries and helmet designs they dangle.  It is such a pity.  Codemasters does so well capturing the ambiance of F1. It is far more exciting than the sterile environment of iRacing, which I may have to move to.  If only Codemasters wouldn't take one step back for every one they take forward.

    I don't intend to put Codemasters down.  After using iRacing, I now recognize how many good things they do with mimicking the F1 racing experience.  In that, they have done a great job and deserve maximum credit. Here's hoping that they have restored or will restore the leagues with ai. Then, I can purchase and go back to my friends' league of no cheaters, courtesy, and fun  (We are all in our 70's so it is fun to have ai to beat in addition to ourselves.).

    @russw1952 Never played IRacing. So I’m not best to judge., But due to it being the goto sim for hardcore sim racers it’s obviously nailed the physics. But from thousands of Iracing YouTube videos I’ve watched. I find visually it always seems flat and dull. And for me to think that Considering I’m a gameplay is king guy and not overly to bothered about graphics. Along with IRacing not having any fun narrative or progression. I get it being sterile But then it’s a hardcore sim for hardcore sim racers. Definitely Not my thing I’m a Gamer that loves racing games.

    What always frustrates me with codemasters is they seem to remove good content and features from previous years release. Then keep the buggy broke stuff we don’t like and manage to make it worse. Than anything left that we do like. They leave it year on year to go stale. Then finally adding a big new wow feature no one wants. 🤷🏻‍♂️🙄😂

    Personally I’d be happy if they just improved and enhanced the core game modes year on year. Rather than shoehorning things such as F1 world into the game

    @russw1952 Sir I hope you don't mind my inevitable display of deference from now on. Being in your 70s and having fun with racing games? All my love and respect! I sure your online sessions must be incredibly fun!

    There's not a single uncrossed T or undotted I in your comment. I'm mostly on iRacing now but I do miss the atmosphere and immersion that Codie's F1 used to provide. Genuinely felt like being part of the F1 circus.

    iRacing is too dry on that respect.

    That said, iRacing has a surprisingly robust league system going on underneath those layers of 90 UI design. If you feel like it I would gladly help you guys set your league up over there. Plenty of tools to tweak your league experience to your liking, but even without making use of them the out of box experience is nice enough as it is

    The new Super Formula Lights car is a joy to drive as well. It's a F3 car in all by name, very planted on traction zones and compliant on corner entry. The Super Formula is the best F1-esque experience going on in all of simracing right now as well.

    To be fair we have so far only had the announcement trailer. Based on past years I expect we will still be rather lacking in details when more info. does come out but we haven't got there yet. It only matters for people who want to pre-order of course. So long as large numbers of people continue to pre-order regardless there is limited incentive for EA/Codemasters to change their approach...

    (Whilst not as old as yourself I remember the days before widespread pre-ordering, and across the whole games industry I think it is the single worst 'innovation' from a game-players perspective. I'm sure games would be less buggy at launch if this weren't a thing.)

    I would like to thank all of you for your gracious deference.  You, like me, will be startled the first time someone calls you "sir" in public. Happily, age isn't necessarily maturity and I haven't aged out of computer games and sims.  I still believe in fun and I hope all of you will enjoy the same as you get on in years.  Any way good luck and good racing.
