Re: These things need to change for F1 24!

@LuckyNico92 Well..

1. Something similar but just a properly working reliability for each manufacturer would be nice indeed. Its not as simple as you example but in the end they should go into such a direction. However chances are after all just chances and out of throwing a dice 100 times you can still end up with 0 times a 6 although chance says you should have 16..

2. This should be fairly fixed.. As far as i saw they changed the revv limit to at least 14k instead of 13k which gives quite some headroom on the top speed. Removing a "top speed limiter" is nothing with the game though, its just physics that a car cant go faster than the gearbox will allow, they just set the rev limiter too low in the last few games.

3. If they didnt even change the handling (to more realistic ways) they would earn a gigantic shitstorm for charging that much money for nothing but new liveries and a half hearted change of career mode.

@Meza994 Even in F1 22, you could go 370 KPH with any team once it's maxed.

And if it's a problem with the gearbox, how about a gearing section in the setups where we can adjust the final drive with an 11 point slider, which allows us to increase top speed up to 380 KPH (1-5, useful for Monza and Las Vegas) or enhance acceleration (7-11, useful for Monaco and Hungary). And 6 is the normal setting which lets a car do 360 KPH max.

    Hi guys,

now, you can argue whether this is a minor or major thing to ask for, but it's certainly something that I would love to have in order to make F1 24 a great game. This time, it affects the Career Mode experience, and these two things certainly add to it. These are:

    1. The ability to change the order of the races. And YES, I AM AWARE THAT YOU CAN DO THAT IN GP MODE, but it's not the same. With Bahrain as Round 1, I wouldn't bring myself to play ten seasons of the same boring calendar over and over and over again. That's why you need to be able to change the order of the races in Career Mode. Other people in previous games have done it as well using mods, but since I play on console, I'm not one of them. And for those playing on console, having an option like that would be cool, as it allows to personalize the experience every season. You can have Melbourne as Round 1 like the good old days, you could start in Austria, finish up in Las Vegas or Qatar... Endless options there to personalize all 10 seasons, which adds to variety, which to me is very important for an F1 game. And don't say this isn't possible because of the calendar dates... Screw calendar dates, because every time I choose dynamic weather for say Bahrain, it never rains, so you have to force it to rain by changing the weather in GP Mode. The tracks all have weather algorithms when using dynamic weather. You could put Melbourne where Bahrain is, and it would still be a chance of rain, because the dynamic weather algorithm is programmed like that.
    2. The option to disable Sprints. I have talked about it several times, and while I don't mind it in F1 Manager, I absolutely despise Sprints in F1 racing games. The worst part about it is that you can do everything right in Qualifying, do a perfect Sprint, and with two or three laps to go, your engine blows up and you're starting last in the race through NO FAULT OF YOUR OWN. If you want the realism, then feel free to keep Sprints enabled, but for those like me who absolutely don't like them, and ESPECIALLY if EA SPORTS decide to still keep the old garbage format where the Sprint decides the starting order for the race, it would be nice to have an option to turn Sprints off.

You know, I'm not asking for much... But these past three years, the community made a lot of wishes and suggestions, and EA SPORTS haven't cared one bit about it. It honestly feels like F1 no longer receives the kind of love that Codemasters gave it in F1 2020, and that's sad when you consider that Codemasters did a stellar job with EA SPORTS WRC (because it's not EA SPORTS who developed it). Why can't Codies continue developing F1 and give us a game worthy of being a successor to F1 2020?

Like I said, I'll buy the game when it comes out and see what it's like, but if my fears are true and it's just a mere copy-paste of F1 23, then I'm gone from F1 until a new developer comes, I don't care. EA SPORTS failed us three times in a row, and while the new innovations from the deep dives look neat, it's still not looking good for the future of F1 games. Like, at this current stage, I'm not expecting anything major, and I'm trying my best to curb my enthusiasm as much as possible to avoid being disappointed.

For now, let's just hope for the best.

    Good day,

    Nico

Changing the gearing mid season is forbidden in the rules. Also people want the cars to have the same gearing as they have IRL that makes it difficult for some cars to reach extreme speeds with the restriction to the revvs F1 23 had.

Just giving Mercs shorter gearing 1k more revvs (also they should have 2k more according to the rules) increases their maximum speed by something around 25kph so their maximum would be around 375kph, that should suffice for most situations

@Meza994 Then EA SPORTS messed it up.

Like I said, they need to set the top speed equal for ALL teams, otherwise it's super unfair, and nobody will like to run with Mercedes powered teams because they can't go faster than 350 KPH, and like I said as well, in terms of league racing, nobody wants to run with a Mercedes powered team, because they won't stand a chance on high speed circuits like Spa, Monza and Las Vegas because they can't beat everyone else. And what's even more surprising, I don't even play league racing, and I can't believe that legit nobody talked about the top speed problem besides a non league player like me...
  • @LuckyNico92 However in real F1 no teams are equal in the R&D performance chart meaning some of the lower teams have lower top speeds. Which is why it would be unrealistic for all cars to be equal performance.

@Someone22lickitt Then how do you explain Mercedes, the works team that supplies Williams and Aston Martin, having a top speed of 350 KPH, while the Red Bull goes 370 KPH?

If anything, all the top class teams like Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes should go faster than the lower teams. But since F1 23, the top speed depends on the engine the official teams use, and Mercedes has the lowest and Red Bull the highest, and there's no option to change the gearing, and EA SPORTS refuses to give us this option, and this in turn renders all Mercedes powered teams sans McLaren (for whatever reason) completely useless and unviable for winning championships unless the chassis and aero upgrades make it dominant.

Also, I'm not asking for equal performance, this ain't F2. I'm just asking for equal top speed for all teams. Imagine you want to participate in league racing and no other cars than the Mercedes powered ones are available. Why do you think that's the case? Exactly, because no one wants them because their low top speed makes them unviable in many, many scenarios.

@LuckyNico92 Its depending on the gearbox, not the engine, thats why McLaren has different gear ratios in F1 23.. And this will most likely not matter anymore with F1 24 as they increased the revv limiter afaik which makes the teams able to reach higher speeds - which they should never reach anyway as they prefer downforce over useless topspeed for maximum 5 seconds..

Cars with a Merc gearbox will NOT be limited to 350kph in F1 24.

Can we also add all nations flags? I don’t see how hard this is - there are loads of random countries, why not just have them all or at least a wider selection
