Hi guys,
now, you can argue whether this is a minor or major thing to ask for, but it's certainly something that I would love to have in order to make F1 24 a great game. This time, it affects the Career Mode experience, and these two things certainly add to it. These are:
- The ability to change the order of the races. And YES, I AM AWARE THAT YOU CAN DO THAT IN GP MODE, but it's not the same. With Bahrain as Round 1, I wouldn't bring myself to play ten seasons of the same boring calendar over and over and over again. That's why you need to be able to change the order of the races in Career Mode. Other people in previous games have done it as well using mods, but since I play on console, I'm not one of them. And for those playing on console, having an option like that would be cool, as it allows to personalize the experience every season. You can have Melbourne as Round 1 like the good old days, you could start in Austria, finish up in Las Vegas or Qatar... Endless options there to personalize all 10 seasons, which adds to variety, which to me is very important for an F1 game. And don't say this isn't possible because of the calendar dates... Screw calendar dates, because every time I choose dynamic weather for say Bahrain, it never rains, so you have to force it to rain by changing the weather in GP Mode. The tracks all have weather algorithms when using dynamic weather. You could put Melbourne where Bahrain is, and it would still be a chance of rain, because the dynamic weather algorithm is programmed like that.
- The option to disable Sprints. I have talked about it several times, and while I don't mind it in F1 Manager, I absolutely despise Sprints in F1 racing games. The worst part about it is that you can do everything right in Qualifying, do a perfect Sprint, and with two or three laps to go, your engine blows up and you're starting last in the race through NO FAULT OF YOUR OWN. If you want the realism, then feel free to keep Sprints enabled, but for those like me who absolutely don't like them, and ESPECIALLY if EA SPORTS decide to still keep the old garbage format where the Sprint decides the starting order for the race, it would be nice to have an option to turn Sprints off.
You know, I'm not asking for much... But these past three years, the community made a lot of wishes and suggestions, and EA SPORTS haven't cared one bit about it. It honestly feels like F1 no longer receives the kind of love that Codemasters gave it in F1 2020, and that's sad when you consider that Codemasters did a stellar job with EA SPORTS WRC (because it's not EA SPORTS who developed it). Why can't Codies continue developing F1 and give us a game worthy of being a successor to F1 2020?
Like I said, I'll buy the game when it comes out and see what it's like, but if my fears are true and it's just a mere copy-paste of F1 23, then I'm gone from F1 until a new developer comes, I don't care. EA SPORTS failed us three times in a row, and while the new innovations from the deep dives look neat, it's still not looking good for the future of F1 games. Like, at this current stage, I'm not expecting anything major, and I'm trying my best to curb my enthusiasm as much as possible to avoid being disappointed.
For now, let's just hope for the best.
Good day,
Nico
