The Last Chance
Hi guys,
from what I have heard, F1 25 may be the final F1 game made by EA SPORTS. I hope that a new developer will get the license after this time, but if this is the final chance for EA SPORTS to impress the community, then the game has to be a banger, and I know just how to do that.
- We finally need a creative intro that hypes the players up to play the game, just like the old days when Codemasters was still in charge of development. I especially remember F1 2012 with that really cool intro song "What A Life" by Noel Gallagher. Personally, I'm thinking of something similar, but with the song "Blade Runner" by Beast in Black, which would be the perfect song for an intro like that. Ever since the generic TV intros from 2021 onwards, I have always skipped the intros, and I really miss the creativity from Codemasters...
- We finally need to be able to change the race calendar in Career Mode from Season 2 onwards. I am so sick of always seeing Bahrain as Round 1, which is the main reason why I skipped it in every season since F1 22, because that track is super repetitive and not fun to play. What we also need is to decide which races are Sprint weekends or disable Sprints altogether. Sprints are absolutely unnecessary, and they just chew up a lot of time. I understand having Sprints in say F1 Manager, but in a racing game, you want to get to a race weekend, do Practice, Qualifying and Race, and move on to the next one, and not burn additional time with a Sprint. And the selection of Sprint tracks is also questionable. Why have Qatar as a Sprint when Bahrain is clearly the better choice? That's why we need that option, to decide which races are Sprint weekends.
- Mechanical failures need to be reworked. The chance to retire due to a mechanical failure is far too high, and even parts with 0% wear have a high chance of failing, especially when you insert fresh components prior to Qualifying, which makes zero sense. Personally, I think the chance for a mechanical failure should depend on component wear, and the higher the wear above 50% (since that's the threshold for a performance drop), the higher the chance of a mechanical failure.
- Since it's been two years since Braking Point 2, I'm pretty sure that we get the epic conclusion of the story, in which Aiden Jackson and Callie Mayer fight for the championship with Konnersport. I would be thrilled if they succeed, because that would mean that all the pain, struggles and fighting have been worth it in the end.
- I said this once in F1 23, but I think it's still an important thing. With so many cool cosmetics in the store, we absolutely need a means to spend in-game currency earned by playing the game to purchase these items. Might as well let us spend the cash we make in F1 World for new cosmetics for our driver and car.
Like I said, this is EA SPORTS final chance to impress the community, and I hope that they listen to the players for once to make F1 25 a worthy end to the series before a new developer takes the wheel.
Let's hope for the best.
- Nico
