Why am I so slow ?

Hi, I define myself as a very decent amateur driver and I play many times a week since f1 2020. I have a decent thrustmaster rig and  on f1 2023 open lobbies I won my great share of races, fastest laps, pole positions, podiums, etc. I was competitive in a lot of races. Since I play f1 2024 in open lobbies,  no victory, no podium, nothing and I am always 3 sec slower than faster drivers. I feel I am driving near the limits and taking risks but I get lapped. I feel like i am playing with pro drivers every races. I finish last almost every races. I really struggle to understand why I can’t be competitive anymore and why I can’t find a way to improve. Did someone else noticed the same experience?

  • Same issue, in the other games I was fast, but in this game, even with setups, the car is slow, continously spinning in slow corners. I even put TC back ON to make it racebale. The games cars don;t suit me, they are just crap!

Went back on f1 2023 and found it better and I am back at my level. Finished 3rd at 1st race and about 20 sec from p1

  • @Fredleves I think you're getting stuck with higher level players.....there are only 1st time players and top of the food chain.
You are probably not either so to the top you go!

The middle players appear to have abandon online and because of the bumper car players among other things.

I brought up in another thread the fact it seems in the cross platform ranked races that XBOX, PS and even Steam players dominate the challenges.  EA users appear to be handicapped even though ranked races are supposed to be "balanced".  At tech level 1100 and Tier 50, I've observed many non-EA players have an unfair advantage.  For example, I'm 1-2 sec/lap slower than the non-EA players and even with ERS/DRS enabled they are still able to easily overtake me on the straights like a top fuel drag race car.  Either it is not a truly "balanced" race or many players are using cheats/exploits around the "anti-cheat" system.

No wonder players are leaving this game.  I have difficulty finding any ranked race with 15-20 players.  Most are 6-10 players.

  • I also noticed that I struggle to reach 300kph when I have more rear wing. Is it normal?

If you showed us your onboards it’d be helpful. Otherwise it’s difficult to understand what exactly makes you slow.
