Not quite the exciting 4-team free-for-all that was promised. I'm not sure Red Bull were ever this dominant (although it's hard to tell their exact pace because Max was so good and Perez so average). Mercedes were this far ahead a decade ago but I don't see McLaren having such a prolonged stint at the top. Hopefully teams will come back at them as the season goes, I suppose. However, I think my pre-season hopes of a Leclerc title have become dust.
Looking forwards to next year. usually changing the regs results in one teams dominance, so it might be a similar story next year too, but if it's primarily based on engines being good then maybe McLaren, Mercedes and possibly even Wiliams and Alpine will be duking it out. Hopefully. Although, with growing rumours that Saudi are getting a second race for 2027 (rather than the new circuit replacing Jeddah) and America stockpiling races where they can (supposedly they're thinking about a 4th in the north near New York / New Jersey again. It was originally thought to replace Miami but clearly not anymore!) then I think track-politics might take some of the excitement out of F1 going forwards. Although that first corner in New-Saudi being like 200ft off the ground looks like drama waiting to happen.
SmokyAtom!!!!!!!!!!! How you doing!
