Those F1 cars are way too large for this circuit
Those F1 cars are at the end of current regulations. Remember 2013, with disgusting 9 wins in a row, 2020 with championship that was decided after couple of races.

Every now and then you get spoiled. Like 2012 was a pretty stellar season for ages... and then the next few were really uncompetitive with only one team a real contender. If either Nico/Lewis was far superior to the other then they'd be regarded as the dark days of boring domination. The fact they were close-ish was the only saving grace. You had a brief flicker that Ferrari might be able to do something... but they're Ferrari, so they won't. Then a few average years until the snorefest that was 2020, which is only saved by the fact we were happy to even have a season.
Then you had 2021 with two teams on par and the sport interest rocketed... then a few drab years until the second half of last season where it picked up a little.Maybe we're due for another dour 2-3 years.
I expect next season to be half-decent as if it's engine-based and if Merc have the ascendancy then Merc, McLaren and Alpine (and maybe even Williams) aren't all a shambles anymore and can battle while the other engines catch up.
That being said, I think the racing itself won't be great in terms of a spectacle. However, I hope i'm wrong on that. - Cpayne325 months agoHero+

It's not one of those seasons that will live long in the memory (yet.)
At least the title battle is relatively close but the two protagonists aren't especially exciting in terms of 'aura' and 'charisma'. Although that may be due to my distaste for the Lando propaganda, both positive and negative. You get half of the F1 community fangirling for him and the other half mocking him. I do find that abit tiresome as most of it feels unimaginative.
Ferrari being Ferrari is very Ferrari. Mercedes turning up at some races and looking like they're on their holidays at others is also the theme of the last few years. I've been minorly interested in the Red Bull second seat but not enough to be fully invested in what happens with it and I didn't expect Max to leave so the drama of the first seat wasn't exciting neither. Horner being booted mid-season was a little surprising but i'm not expecting much to change for the rest of this year operationally.
The 'rookies' thing that they've been pushing this year is also draining. Lawson and Colapinto have already had like half a season so I can't see them as rookies. I remember in 2012, they had the 6 World Champions agenda that they were pushing.. That felt exciting, the rookies thing doesn't.The midfield being close is something I do like. The teams that are 5th to 9th (Williams, Aston, RB, Haas and Sauber) feel quite close together. If they were closer to the front 4, then that'd be even better but at least it's different teams getting points every week.
Alpine not taking the season seriously is abit disappointing though. Gasly's doing okay but only using one competent driver isn't going to propel them back into the midfield and their insistence on retaining dross makes a mockery of the integrity of the sport.I have to say that I think this might be as good as it gets for a few years though. I'm not feeling good about the new regs changes but I might be wrong.

Well it seems Oscar has redeemed his advantage card with lando’s engine giving up. Fair play to Hadjar on his first podium… and his first broken trophy too

Hopefully, the car will be quicker in their home race because at the moment they are getting close to the midfield. P2 in the WCC but they haven't won a single race with 9 races left!

Lewis won the sprint at China 😜. But yes they do need something of a miracle

I think we should simply skip the rest of the season, give Oscar the title, and focus on next year. (please) Spare us (Ferrari fans) the disappointment and sadness for the remaining 10 or so races.
