A few questions and experiences.

Hi all

a few quick questions, just to see if other people have the same experiences. I play on xbox with a wheel.

first of all regarding the ‘invitational’ things. I don’t play online, I imagine I can just ignore and delete these?

second: is it me, or is the handling really oversteery coming out of the corners? I have been playing for years, but suddenly every time I come out of a corner, the car continues to turn, even after straighten the wheel. Is this the new handling and will I need to adapt my driving, or setup related?

lastly: the ‘warnings’. They are a bit harsh. At the start you go side by side and you get warnings. Should these be tuned down a bit?

cheers, P

A friend of mine who spent a little time in open wheel race cars told me last night that the car performance in slow chicanes is probably spot on. The speed is too low for aero or ground effects to work so the weight in the engine keeps going (inertia) in the direction it was going without enough grip to bite the front into the new direction.

The warnings have always been finicky.

Maybe better people than me will correct what I say but-

    1. Yes you can ignore the invitationals, I do.

    2. I experience it the most in wet conditions. The car’s front does not like to change directions. It is a pronounced understeer going into corners and when I try to change directions coming out the car does like to keep turning. I think it will be a driver style change that is needed because I think this is the handling model.

    3. I only get the warning if I touch another driver, even gently. So if you are sure you’re not love tapping the car next to you then I’ll agree it needs tuning down. I’m not experiencing it myself unless there is contact.

    Hello AEF

Thank you for your reply. Deleting and ignoring the invitationals then. I guess a minor adaptation in driving style will be tried by me then. It is mainly coming out of slow(er) corners, like first chicane in Monza. Regarding the warnings, there probably is contact. But it is so minor and no damage, that it all feels a bit harsh sometimes. I feel the coding should be as such that minimal impacts that generate no damage for anyone, especially at the start, should not be penalised with a warning. I felt ‘24 was harsh on that as well tbh.

     Cheers, P
