Personally, this is the number one thing that is currently really hindering my experience of an otherwise decent game. And the very small list of drivers available currently exacerbated the issue.
I solely play MyTeam for the last couple of installments because being an owner driver is like a magnum opus for me personally since the very first Grid.
I could understand reintegrating an owner driver feature back into the current system is probably quite cumbersome (adding dialogues, finances rebalancing, etc), so I would be more than happy enough if they just allows us to make custom driver(s) and let us hire them in MyTeam.
Just make these custom drivers work similarly as the Icon Drivers, and they don't even need to integrate the stat-calculating system from Driver's Career, just let us set the stats freely like a sandbox game.
