Community assistance

Hey , can somebody on ps5 do a very quick test for me ,  turn off your network and boot up the game and see what models are available offline. My son wants the game and I'm leaving for navy deployment in few days and I know with living close to ocean the internet is not stable enough for constant connection requirements. I don't want to treat him to the game if he won't be able to play it . Ps store says connection required but Google/ Reddit says single player is available like previous years. Would appreciate if anybody kind enough to quickly test it for me . Thnx.

    Hey there,

Sorry for the delay, but I have been quite busy in the past couple of days, and I couldn't try it at home.

So I downloaded the game and launched it with the internet, and I had no problem. After that, I updated everything, disconnected the internet, and launched it. You will get a message saying that you will need Internet for some in-game features and that your account is restricted (I assume the game treats it as underage), but if you accept it and keep going forward, you can access to different game modes and play the game.

  • Hi Soaringraptor83

I can’t test this on my main account because disabling the connection could prevent the game from loading my data, potentially creating a new save file and overwriting my existing saved data.

However, I tried launching the game on a second account on my PS5 after unplugging the internet cable, and I wasn’t able to start the game.

I own the digital version of F1 25, so I assume that an internet connection is required for EA to verify the license before the game can launch. With a physical version, this issue shouldn’t occur.
If you still have internet access but it’s very unstable, license verification issues may not occur as long as EA manages to connect, even if it takes a long time or the connection isn’t stable.

Regarding the available modes, I assume that Driver Career mode and MyTeam are not affected by whether you are connected to the internet or not.
The same should apply to Braking Point mode, since it does not allow online or coop play.

On the other hand, F1 World will probably require a stable internet connection.

As I explained earlier, I haven’t fully tested this, so these are only assumptions. Maybe someone else will be able to run the test, or a Community Manager may have the official answer.

Good luck with your Navy deployment.

  • See here is the confusion because another ps5 just told me the single player modes work , I have internet obviously and would have no problems initial boot up to verify etc but it can't handle constant connection requirements. He only will be playing my team/driver career,no online stuff as he's 8 years old. Issue is I'm going to be   on a aircraft carrier in middle of Atlantic sea in few days so not like I'm going to be easy to contact lol . Would be great if a ea member could confirm what's available and what's not . Thnx for replying tho .

    Hey there,

As far as I know, in console, there shouldn't be any problem launching the game. There should be plenty of content to play with no online connection (Career, Grand Prix, Time Trial, Driver, and My Team Career). Of course, F1 World wouldn't work.

    I hope that helps!

    Hey there,

That's what I assume. I haven't tried it myself, but some modes should work perfectly offline. As far as I know, the only thing that requires a connection is the Steam version because Steam sometimes needs to make file verification.

I'll try to boot it during the day to make sure I can give you a 100% verified answer, but as far as I know, it should work without problems after the first boot.
