F125 Co-op career mode stuck

Has anyone else encountered a problem with their two player career in F125? I play on an xbox, my friend plays on PS5, he is the host, when we go to the lobby, my driver is greyed out and my team has changed from Williams to HAAS, then when I attempt to progress I end up staring at the front of the driver headquarters house with 'loading' in the top left corner, while my friend can go to the workstation but if he tries to commence practice it says he is waiting for me. Very frustrating as we are at Singapore so nearly through our season. We have tried clearing the cache, turning auto save on and off, removing me and resending an invite (I can accept the invite but nothing changes when I go into the saved game), we have both tried hard restarts and taken turns as to who does what. Hopefully someone can help :)
