I like the changes. I was never a fan of the driver owner idea and always thought hiring two drivers and picking which to play as each race would have been better so I'm glad about that. I'm actually looking forward to this year's game so far.
That being said, and especially with a decent amount of people saying it, they messed up not letting you create a driver in My Team as well. They should have indeed split the driver and owner into separate characters and added in a Driver Creator/Editor like every sport game has where we can create drivers, give them stats or edit other drivers stats and add them into the career modes. This was the perfect opportunity to add that feature and a lot of us would have been delighted with adding several of our drivers to the free roster that us or the AI could hire.
The logical next step is to add that feature, especially now they've figured out how to add singular icon drivers and let the AI hire them. I certainly won't hold my breath but I'd hope with enough people saying that they finally add a driver creator and editor in so people can hire their own drivers again or edit their favourite drivers stats like many have been asking for for a very long time.
